Roronoa Zoro

Roronoa Zoro, known as "Pirate Hunter" Zoro, serves as a primary combatant within the Straw Hat Pirates, holding the distinction of being one of their two swordsmen. He also occupies the role of a Senior Officer within the Straw Hat Grand Fleet and is widely acknowledged as the right-hand man of the crew's captain, Monkey D. Luffy. Before joining the Straw Hat Pirates, Zoro was a former bounty hunter and, notably, the second member to pledge allegiance to Luffy's cause, initiating this partnership during the Romance Dawn Arc. Hailing from the East Blue, Zoro's family lineage connects him to Tera and Roronoa Arashi as his parents, Shimotsuki Furiko and Roronoa Pinzoro as his grandparents, and Shimotsuki Ushimaru as his grandnephew. This lineage traces back to both the Shimotsuki Family of Wano Country and the legendary samurai, Shimotsuki Ryuma.

As a practitioner of the Three Sword Style, a unique swordsmanship form he honed during his upbringing in Shimotsuki Village, Zoro ranks among the Straw Hats' top combatants, forming the formidable "Monster Trio" alongside Luffy and Sanji. His ultimate aspiration is to claim the title of the world's greatest swordsman, a vow he made to honor his late childhood friend, Kuina. Zoro possesses exceptional swordsmanship skills, having trained at the Isshin Dojo in Shimotsuki Village since childhood. During this time, he consistently bested adult swordsmen in duels, with Kuina being the sole exception. Upon reaching adulthood, he became a renowned master swordsman, famed for his prowess in wielding three swords simultaneously in battle.

In his relentless pursuit of the title of World's Strongest Swordsman, Zoro dedicated himself wholeheartedly to swordsmanship, gaining recognition throughout the East Blue. During his confrontation with Dracule Mihawk, the reigning World's Strongest Swordsman, Zoro initially found himself overpowered by Mihawk's Kogatana. However, Mihawk acknowledged Zoro's unyielding resolve and spared his life, believing in his potential to reach the pinnacle of swordsmanship. Subsequently, Zoro underwent a transformative two-year training period under Mihawk's tutelage, experiencing a significant boost in his abilities. Notably, despite the loss of vision in his left eye during the timeskip, Zoro has not exhibited any hindrance in his battles.

Zoro's signature combat style revolves around the Three Sword Style, a technique wherein he adeptly wields three swords concurrently—two in hand and one clenched in his teeth. Numerous Three Sword Style maneuvers utilize all three blades to unleash a flurry of strikes upon opponents, slicing them repeatedly or targeting multiple adversaries simultaneously. His flying slashes, executed using this style, can generate tornado-like assaults capable of engaging and vanquishing multiple foes in a single move. Zoro also excels in utilizing his trio of swords for parrying attacks and countering blows even when confronted by multiple assailants. His skill extends to dueling against adversaries armed with a greater number of swords, such as the six-sword-wielding Hatchan and the eight-sword-wielding Hyouzou, whom he dismissed as unworthy of his attention.

During the Wano Country Arc, Zoro further refined his swordsmanship, introducing the King of Hell Three Sword Style. This advanced technique incorporates Busoshoku Haki and Haoshoku Haki, significantly amplifying the potency and range of his attacks. This newfound prowess allowed him to inflict substantial damage and ultimately defeat one of the last surviving Lunarians, King. However, the King of Hell Three Sword Style Sword relies on Zoro permitting Enma to deplete his Haki reserves, necessitating a period of recovery once exhausted.
