Originally introduced as a key member of CP9, renowned for being the most formidable assassin in the unit's history, Lucci's covert mission led him to the Galley-La Company's Dock 1 in Water 7. Concealed beneath the guise of a sawyer, treenail, and bolt specialist, he aimed to acquire the Pluton blueprints from Iceburg. Following his defeat at the hands of Monkey D. Luffy during the Enies Lobby incident, Lucci faced expulsion from CP9 due to the chaos wrought by the Straw Hat Pirates. Spandam, his superior, held him accountable. Nonetheless, Lucci orchestrated an impressive return within two years, reinstating himself into Cipher Pol under CP0, where he would subsequently surpass Spandam in rank.
