Browns RB Nick Chubb Suffers Knee Injury

Cleveland Browns' star running back Nick Chubb had to be carted off the field due to a knee injury during the Monday night game against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Following the game, Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski expressed his belief that Chubb would be sidelined for the remainder of the season. The injury occurred when Chubb collided with Steelers safety Minkah Fitzpatrick at the end of a 5-yard run early in the second quarter, causing Chubb's legs to bend awkwardly under him during the tackle by Fitzpatrick.

Immediately after the play, a teammate reached out to assist Chubb to his feet, but he shook his head while clutching his left knee. He unfastened his chinstrap and rolled onto his side. Chubb had previously suffered a severe knee injury in 2015 while in college at Georgia, involving a dislocation and three torn ligaments. Similar to his past injury, Monday night's incident was challenging to watch, prompting ESPN to refrain from airing replays of the distressing moment. Chubb remained on the field for several minutes while teammates gathered nearby for a prayer. Eventually, he had to leave the field on a cart. Prior to the injury, Chubb had made 10 rushes for 64 yards. Jerome Ford stepped in as Chubb's replacement, scoring a 3-yard reception immediately after Chubb's departure. Ford then executed a successful 2-point conversion, putting the Browns ahead 11-7. Numerous NFL stars, including LeBron James, joined in offering their well wishes on social media following Chubb's injury. This outpouring of support also came from some of Chubb's former teammates like Baker Mayfield and Sony Michel.
