Michael B. Jordan showed off his smooth style on Wednesday at the Black Panther: Wakanda Forever premiere in Los Angeles. The 35-year-old actor, who played Killmonger in the first installment of the Marvel franchise, stepped out on the red carpet at Hollywood's Dolby Theatre to celebrate the launch of writer/director Ryan Coogler's long-awaited Marvel sequel. Dressed in a slick, yellow jacket and matching wide-legged trousers (both Louis Vuitton), PEOPLE's 2020 Sexiest Man Alive was a standout among a sea of eye-catching looks.

He paired the outfit with a white tank, black shoes, and accessorized his look with a gold chain Tiffany & Co. HardWear diamond pavé necklace and yellow gold Vacheron Constantin watch. Also in a look made of reflective purple was Gurira, known as Okoye in the film. Her dress had two sleeves made of oversized ruffles and an A-line, pleaded skirt. The Walking Dead alum, 44, matched her outfit in purple pumps. Wright, 28, appeared to honor the late Black Panther star Chadwick Boseman with her premiere attire. The Guyanese-British actress, who returns as Shuri, wore a black suit with a bedazzled harness similar to the one Boseman wore to the 2018 Oscars. And Cole, new to the franchise this year, channeled her character's warrior past with a sequin hooded look that paired with a strapless dress of the same fabric. The 35-year-old added sheer black gloves and carried a black purse with a long rope handle and a long tassel that dragged alongside her dress's train.

How Does Shazam Tie Into Black Adam?

Black Adam greatly expands the scope of the DC Extended Universe, bringing in the Justice Society as well as Dwayne Johnson's dark demigod. Even characters from The Suicide Squad and Peacemaker show up, proving that James Gunn's time in the DC Universe is only beginning. And while the majority of the films' Easter eggs are connected to the history of Adam and the Justice Society, there's another DC hero who plays a major part in the story. That hero? None other than Billy Batson/Shazam (Asher Angel/Zachary Levi).

The strongest tie that connects Billy and Adam is the source of their powers. Adam gains his powers from a council of wizards who empower him with abilities from the Egyptian pantheon of gods. Whenever Adam speaks the word "Shazam!" he is granted godlike powers including superhuman strength and durability, flight, and the ability to generate lightning. But there's a twist to how Adam gained his powers. He was not chosen as the champion of Khandaq; rather, that honor went to his son Harut (Jalon Christian). Harut chose to give his power to Adam to save his life, and was killed shortly afterwards. This led Adam to wreak his unholy vengeance against the king who had oppressed his people and took his son from him. However, his rage ended up nearly leveling Khandaq, and the same wizards who gave him his powers imprisoned him within the ruins of the king's castle. In the present day, Adam is freed when Adrianna Tomaz (Sarah Shahi) speaks the word "Shazam" unlocking his prison. And once again, Adam finds himself battling against powerful foes when the Justice Society arrives to ensure his "peaceful surrender". By contrast, Billy accidentally stumbles upon the Rock of Eternity in Shazam! - the mystical fortress where the wizards convened when escaping a pair of bullies. There he meets the last living wizard (Djimon Honsou) who attempts to discover if he's worthy of becoming a new champion. While discussing the origins of the power, the Wizard says that he and his fellow magicians made a mistake in choosing the champion once hence his test of worthiness. It's more than likely he was referring to Adam at the time. Like Adam, Billy also gains incredible powers when he shouts "Shazam!" Said powers are derived from deities in Greek mythology (except for the biblical king Solomon, whose wisdom Billy gains.) Billy also shares his power with his foster family in order to defeat the madman Thaddeus Sivana (Mark Strong). Much like Adam's bond with his son, Billy shares a close connection with his family - both in terms of magical power and the bonds of love. Johnson also bears a strong connection to Shazam!, having served as an executive producer on the film. He was also attached to star as either Black Adam or Shazam before Black Adam was put into development. Though Johnson has expressed his desire for Superman and Black Adam to collide in future films, all the signs are pointing toward a Black Adam/Shazam showdown. The two have had a long and fierce rivalry in DC Comics canon, and the similarities in origins and powers could make for an interesting conflict.

Apple Stops Iphone 14 Plus Production Reports

According to The Information, the tech giant informed at least one of its manufacturers in China to “immediately halt production” of the smartphone’s components while it assesses the demand for the iPhone 14 Plus. Meanwhile, the two downstream Apple suppliers in China that assemble the parts into larger modules are also supposedly scaling back production by 70% and 90%. Demand for the iPhone 14 Plus is supposedly quite low as consumers prefer to spend the extra $100 USD for the iPhone 14 Pro and its extra features. The iPhone 14 line was unveiled during Apple’s Far Out even in September and has only been available to the public for a little over two weeks.

The saving grace for Apple so far has been sales of the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max. Bloomberg describes sales of both models as “robust,” and Kuo reports that Apple has switched “production lines of the iPhone 14 to the iPhone 14 Pro models, which will help improve Apple's product mix/iPhone ASP in 4Q22.” The problem is this is unsustainable. Expanding on his iPhone 14 Plus sales article, The Information reporter Wayne Ma explained that “while at least one supplier also has been told to boost iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max parts production, it's insignificant when compared with the same amount of parts for units they are cutting for the iPhone 14 Plus.” Things are unlikely to get better in the short term. Especially with Apple recently increasing iPhone prices in most countries — something that wasn’t covered widely due to price freezes in the US and China. But even these markets look set to pay more in 2023. There is also a value problem here. In conjunction with rising prices, iPhone 14 trade-in prices are falling twice as fast as iPhone 13 models, which risks undermining the so-called ‘Apple Tax’ as a price worth paying. Throw in worldwide hyperinflation, spiraling energy prices, and a cost of living crisis in several key markets and relying on Pro models is a gamble. Despite this, Apple still has plenty of time on its side. In a contracting market, Apple remains the only smartphone manufacturer with positive growth at least for now. But iPhones are not alone. Questions are also being asked about the pricing and positioning of MacBook Air models and the entire iPad line-up. Apple fans are notoriously loyal, but there are signs this loyalty is now being tested to breaking point. How Apple reacts will be telling.

Houston Astros Defeat New York Yankees in ALCS Game 1

Astros defeated the Yankees, 4-2, in Game 1 of the American League Championship Series on Wednesday night. The Astros lead the best-of-seven series 1-0, meaning they're three games away from punching a ticket to the World Series for the fourth time since 2017. The Yankees and Astros will continue the ALCS with Game 2 on Thursday night. The Yankees are expected to start Luis Severino while the Astros counter with Framber Valdez. First pitch is slated for 7:37 p.m. ET and the game will be broadcast on TBS. The Astros will attempt to build a 2-0 lead in the series. The Astros fell behind in the second inning, as Harrison Bader delivered his fourth home run in his sixth postseason game this fall, launching a solo shot against Justin Verlander. Houston would tie things up in the bottom half of the inning. Backstop Martín Maldonado launched an opposite-field double that plated Chas McCormick. The two sides would trade zeroes until the sixth inning. That's when first baseman Yuli Gurriel hit a home run to left field to put Houston up 2-1.

The aforementioned McCormick would hit his own solo home run a couple batters later, building the lead up to 3-1. Another home run, this time from Jeremy Peña in the seventh, made it 4-1. The Yankees would get a run back in the eighth on an Anthony Rizzo solo shot, cutting the lead to 4-2. The Yankees would threaten further in the eighth, putting the tying run on first with two outs. The score remained the same until the final out, however, sealing the deal for the Astros. Here are six things you need to know about the Astros' Game 1 win. The Astros owe much of their victory to ace Justin Verlander. The frontrunner for the AL Cy Young Award struggled in his first start this postseason against the Seattle Mariners. He course-corrected on Wednesday, holding the Yankees to one run over six innings of work. Verlander gave up three hits, one walk, and one hit by pitch, he struck out 11 batters on 103 pitches. Verlander's 11 strikeouts tied for the second most he's recorded in a single postseason game. His career-high remains the 13 he punched out against the Yankees in the 2017 ALCS. This is the fifth time he's struck out 11, and the second time he's done so versus New York. (To be fair, Verlander has now made nine postseason starts against the Yankees, giving him ample opportunity to accomplish the feat.) Verlander threw three pitches more than 20 times on Wednesday: his fastball, slider, and curveball. He generated a game-high 17 swinging strikes, generating at least four on each of those three pitches, and eight on his slider alone. In so many words, Verlander did not look like someone who had authored arguably the worst postseason start of his career last time out. Yankees right-hander Jameson Taillon didn't have a Verlander-like performance by any means. He did keep the game close, however, and that meant he surpassed the modest expectations placed upon him facing the vaunted Astros lineup. Taillon threw 4 1/3 innings, surrendering one run on four hits and three walks. He didn't strike out anyone on 67 pitches. Taillon's line almost looked worse, as manager Aaron Boone removed him in the fifth after he surrendered a double. Reliever Clarke Schmidt, who would eventually yield two home runs, loaded the bases with back-to-back walks (one intentional) before generating a pivotal double-play ball. When people think about the big power threats in the Astros lineup, they think about Yordan Alvarez, Kyle Tucker, and perhaps even Jose Altuve or Alex Bregman. They probably don't think about the three who launched solo shots in Game 1: Gurriel, McCormick, and Peña. That's for good reason. Indeed, Gurriel finished the regular season with eight home runs in 584 trips to the plate, or one every 73 plate appearances. McCormick and Peña were far better in that respect, homering between every 25 and 29 trips to the plate. What's more is that Gurriel had been in the midst of a lengthy power drought heading into the playoffs. After hitting his seventh home run of the year on July 1, he homered just once more over his final 76 games. Naturally, Gurriel has since launched two home runs in his first four playoff games, showing that you can't predict baseball. It didn't end up mattering, not really, but Yankees outfielder Aaron Judge made arguably his best catch of the season from a statistical perspective early on. Bregman hit a ball to right, right-center with two runners on base and one out. It looked like Bregman was going to have extra bases, yet Judge laid out and made the grab.

Sony’s DualSense Edge PS5 Wireless Controller Launch

Sony will be releasing its first-ever ultra-customizable controller early next year. Developed by PlayStation, the DualSense Edge wireless controller will launch worldwide on January 26. Featuring a variety of hardware and software-based personalization options, the controller is designed to allow players to tailor controls to their playstyle for a specific gaming experience. Users can remap buttons, adjust stick sensitivity and triggers and swap between multiple control profiles.

The DualSense Edge also packs in haptic feedback and adaptive triggers for comfortable and immersive gameplay. In addition to the controller itself, the bundle arrives with three changeable sets of stick caps and two changeable sets of back buttons, as well as connector housing and a USB cable. Everything comes packaged in a convenient and organized carrying case. Sony’s DualSense Edge PS5 controller is priced at $199.99 USD and available for pre-order in the US, UK, France, Germany, Netherlands, Belgium and Luxembourg. The controller will be available in the aforementioned countries on January 26 and at other participating retailers beginning February 23.

BTS Starts Military Service

All seven members of the group are to fulfill their mandatory duties to South Korea - which ask all able-bodied men to serve for 18 to 21 months before their 31st birthday - with oldest member Jin set to be the first to enlist this month, ahead of his 30th birthday in December. An announcement from Big Hit Music stated: "He will then follow the enlistment procedure of the Korean government. "Other members of the group plan to carry out their military service based on their own individual plans. "Both the company and the members of BTS are looking forward to reconvening as a group again around 2025 following their service commitment."

 

The announcement was made on the band's social media pages in the wake of their free concert to support South Korea's World Expo bid in Busan on Saturday (15.10.22). The statement read: "BIG HIT MUSIC is proud to announce today that the members of BTS are currently moving forward with plans to fulfill their military service. "After the phenomenal concert to support Busan's bid for the World Expo 2030, and as each individual embarks on solo endeavors, it's the perfect time and the members of BTS are honored to serve. "Since the creation of BTS over ten years ago, the band has risen to international success, broken records, and catapulted K-Pop into the global stratosphere. "BIG HIT MUSIC has focused to the milestone moment when it would be possible to respect the needs of the country and for these healthy young men to serve with their countrymen, and that's now." It had been thought the group might be exempted from military service under plans put forward by South Korea's Culture, Sports and Tourism minister Hwang Hee, on the grounds they had already served their country through their huge global success, and other exceptional citizens, such as Olympians and classical musicians had been excused. However, the plan was met with opposition from many people who had completed their service and now appears to have been dropped.

Razer’s New 5G Cloud Gaming Handheld Release Dates

Razer has unveiled its new Android handheld cloud gaming device, the Razer Edge. Announcing the new product at the annual RazerCon, the console will run on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon G3x Gen 1 Gaming Platform and packs 128 GB, expandable to 2 TB through a microSD slot.

 

The new device features a 6.8-inch (173-mm) AMOLED display with an HD+ resolution and a 144 Hz refresh rate. The software comes from the Android 12. Users have the option of streaming cloud gaming titles through services such as Xbox Cloud Gaming or NVIDIA’s GeForce Now, or they can opt to play PC titles through their computer library or native Android games. The Edge will be available as a either WiFi-only device or as a 5G version exclusively powered by Verizon. The WiFi edition is priced at $400 USD, while the price of the 5G model has yet to be revealed. Both versions will come bundled with the Razer Kishi V2 Pro controller featuring buttons, analog sticks and programmable haptics. The Razer Edge is available for reservation now.

iPhone 14 Pro Gaming and Performance Review

The iPhone 14 Pro is extremely fast thanks to the new A16 Bionic chip, which is exclusive to the new iPhone Pro models this year. Apps open quickly, switching apps feels instantaneous, and iOS 16 runs consistently smooth especially when watching the Dynamic Island grow and shrink constantly.

That said, the performance difference between the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro isn’t really perceptible. Even the Geekbench 5 scores (seen below) don’t show a gulf of difference either. What makes the A16 Bionic special really comes down to the more efficient 4-nanometer process helping to extend battery life – but we’ll get more into this later.

All this performance makes the iPhone 14 Pro fantastic for playing games. This phone has no trouble keeping up with the latest Apple Arcade games like Shovel Knight Dig and Fantasian. More impressively, you can play indie games that were once only available on console and PC like Gris+ and Goat Simulator+. The graphical power of the iPhone 14 Pro is awe-inspiring.

Apple hasn’t changed up the camera array’s design, but virtually everything about the iPhone 14 Pro’s three rear cameras is new. The three lenses are: 48MP wide (24mm f/2.8) 12MP ultra-wide (13mm f/2.2) 12MP telephoto (77mm f/2.8) These are new lenses and larger sensors, and the most interesting camera is, undoubtedly, the 48MP sensor. This is Apple’s first pixel-binning sensor, and that means it captures 12MP images, with four pixels combined into one effective larger pixel; which results in better low-light performance and color fidelity. I’m glad Apple has implemented this, though it’s certainly not ground-breaking – Samsung’s been doing pixel-binning for a while now (which it's not alone in), and the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra features a 108MP camera with nine-pixel binning potential. The 48MP sensor adds the ability to shoot full-resolution raw images, although you have to enable this option in the camera settings – you won’t see raw as an option in the camera app by default. Raw images are uncompressed photos that give you greater latitude for editing in Adobe Photoshop and mobile apps like Adobe Lightroom (you can also edit them in the iPhone’s native camera app). We downloaded some photos to a PC (as DNG files) and edited them in Lightroom, and loved having that extra degree of control; although it’ll be overkill for most users. The ultra-wide camera still has a 120-degree field of view, but is now backed by a bigger sensor for better low-light performance – the photos we took bear this out. We like wide-angle imagery well enough, but what really floats our boat is macro photography. When Apple added macro to the iPhone 13 Pro – at first without the ability for users to control when it was activated – we weren’t that impressed. The Macro mode on the iPhone 14 Pro – which uses the ultra-wide lens – is a different story. It’s clearly making use of the sharper lens and massively improved light performance of the new sensor, meaning close-up images can look breathtaking. We wish Apple had gone further than 3x optical zoom with the 12MP telephoto lens, however. It’s a good camera, but you can get 10x optical zoom with the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra, not to mention that phone’s insanely highly interpolated 100x Space Zoom. And you still can’t take good-looking moon shots with the iPhone. Apple does have one more zoom option, although it’s actually part of the primary sensor, rather than a separate lens; with a central 12MP section of the new 48MP snapper, used for 2x zoom shots. This means you get 12MP pixel-binned stills and really good-looking 2x zoom photos from the same lens, and it’s also a great tool for Portrait mode shots too. On the video front, Apple has upgraded Cinematic Mode to support 4K 30fps. Footage looks great, and every time you use this mode you’ll feel like a real cinematographer. There’s also a new video mode: Action, which you enable by selecting the tiny running-man icon in the upper-right section of the camera app. Because the digital stabilization technology employed in this mode works by cropping away excessive movement until you have a smooth subject in the center of your video. Action mode shooting tops out at 2.8K rather than 4K and works well, as long as you understand that you’re losing visual information every time you shoot. Apple has not added 8K video – and, honestly, we don’t miss it at all. Across the board, this is a good imaging system, and that’s surely due in part to Apple’s new Photonic Engine, which takes Apple’s Deep Fusion image technology and moves it to the front of the pipeline, applying it to uncompressed images, which results in better light and color performance (read more about it in our full iPhone 14 camera explainer, if you're curious). Apple could have done more here in the zoom and megapixel department, but the iPhone 14 Pro still represents the start of something special in the field of Apple iPhone photographic technology and remains one of the best camera phones on the market, based on our time with it.

Where To Buy Nvidia’s Geforce RTX 4090

The RTX 4090 is the best graphics card you can buy right now just read our RTX 4090 review. And unfortunately, that means it’s very popular. Across retailers, most (if not all at this point) RTX 4090 models are sold out. Although the RTX 4090 is easily the best graphics card you can buy right now, it carries a hefty premium. We checked the prices at all of the brands above, and you’re looking at around a $1,600 premium over the base model at most of them. The only exceptions are Origin PC and Falcon Northwest, both of which are charging around $1,400 above the base price.

If you don’t need a full system, however, the best option is to wait. The RTX 4090 is in high demand, certainly, but there’s no reason to believe it will cause another GPU shortage. In addition, Nvidia is releasing two RTX 4080 models in November and AMD is set to launch its next-gen RX 7000 GPUs on November 3. If you just can’t wait, though, there are ways to buy the RTX 4090 you just might need to pick up a system around it.

It’s launch day for Nvidia’s latest, greatest, and absolutely girthiest graphics cards. Generally, we find that it’s best to start with Nvidia’s online store, then walk your way through the usual suspects of electronics retailers. Note that a lot of retailers are using dummy pages until they get verified stock of the GPUs in. And retailers that allow third-party sellers, like Newegg, are seeing some rather egregious increases over the basic $1600-1900 prices for the card and its custom upgrades. Expect to see similar price hikes once the cards hit Amazon and initial stock sells out.

Blink-182 Reunite for World Tour

Earlier this year, Skiba revealed he wasn’t certain if he was still a part of the band and rumors that Blink-182 would be reuniting with DeLonge started to grow. Tom DeLonge, Travis Barker and Mark Hoppus are reuniting as Blink-182 for the first time since 2015 for a new international tour. The band is also dropping a new song on Friday, titled “Edging,” which marks the first time the trio has been in the studio together in a decade.

 

The international tour will feature openers Turnstile in North America, Rise Against in Australia, The Story So Far in United Kingdom and Europe and Wallows in Latin America. Tickets for Blink-182’s tour go on sale at 10 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 17 at blink182.com. DeLonge and Hoppus founded Blink-182 in 1992, and Barker joined as drummer in 1998. The band went on hiatus and explored side projects in 2005, with DeLonge focusing on his band Angels & Airwaves. They regrouped for a reunion tour and new music in 2009, but DeLonge left the band in 2015. Alkaline Trio’s Matt Skiba joined as a replacement, while DeLonge pursued his own music and studied UFOs, even executive producing History Channel’s “Unidentified: Inside America’s UFO Investigation.” Since then, Barker has gone on to collaborate with many other artists, and Blink-182, with Skiba, released two albums, 2016’s “California” and 2019’s “Nine.” In 2021, Hoppus revealed he had been diagnosed with cancer, and has since been cancer-free. He, Barker and DeLonge had been meeting after his diagnosis, leading many fans to speculate about a reunion.

L.A Dodgers Defeats Padres 1-0 Lead In The Best-of-Five NLDS

The Los Angeles Dodgers beat the San Diego Padres, 5-3, Tuesday night in Dodger Stadium to take a 1-0 lead in the best-of-five NLDS. Here's everything you need to know on the game and then the series moving forward. Despite a five-day layoff after a first-round bye, it didn't take long for the Dodgers to get on the board. Trea Turner, the second batter in the bottom of the first, got things started with a no-doubt homer to left. The 419-footer was just the beginning. Will Smith would double and then score on a Max Muncy single. The Dodgers got three hits and a walk in the first inning of Padres starter Mike Clevinger. Clevinger would end up lasting just 2 2/3 innings. He gave up five runs on six hits and the biggest problem was five of those hits were for extra bases. Trea Turner added a double to his homer. Smith doubled twice. Gavin Lux had an RBI double.

The Dodgers were in complete control. Dodgers starter Julio Urías, the NL ERA leader in the regular season, was dominant for four innings. He didn't allow a hit until there were two outs in the third. He faced only one over the minimum through four scoreless innings. In the fifth, though, the Padres made this a game again. Wil Myers led off with a home run. Jake Cronenworth singled and Ha-seong Kim doubled before a pair of productive outs trimmed the Dodgers lead to 5-3. And though Urías had only thrown 79 pitches, Dodgers manager Dave Roberts elected to go to his bullpen with Evan Phillips taking over for the sixth. After the Padres closed the gap from 5-0 to 5-3, they got the first two runners on base in the sixth against Phillips. Juan Soto, who walks more often than anyone else in baseball, drew a walk to start the inning. Manny Machado had an excuse-me hit, as he knocked a dribbler down the third-base line that the Dodgers defenders tried to let roll foul. It stayed fair and Machado had his infield hit. There were now two runners on with no out in a two-run game. The Padres had trimmed the Dodgers' win expectancy from 95 percent to 65 percent. Josh Bell came to the plate with a chance to do some major damage. Instead, he struck out. Myers then hit the ball very hard (100.1 miles per hour), but it was right at second baseman Gavin Lux. Lux corralled it and the Dodgers were able to turn a double play to end the threat. There was great interest to how the Dodgers put their bullpen together in close games heading into this game. Craig Kimbrel was the closer for most of the season, but the Dodgers removed him from the role late in the season when the division was essentially already over and he's not even on the NLDS roster. Evan Phillips worked the sixth. Alex Vesia got the seventh and then the first two outs of the eighth. Brusdal Graterol was summoned to get Manny Machado, and he did though it was a deep flyout that wasn't too far from a home run and then Chris Martin got the final three outs for the save. This doesn't necessarily mean it's how the Dodgers will work every close game, but it's possible Phillips and Vesia serve as "put out the fire" guys while Graterol and Martin are around for late-inning work. These are likely their top four relievers, though, that much seems clear. hey'll face off again in Dodger Stadium for Game 2 on Wednesday at 8:37 p.m. ET. Yu Darvish (16-8, 3.10) gets the ball for the Padres. He was brilliant in the Wild Card Series against the Mets, allowing just one run on six hits in seven innings of work. He faced the Dodgers four times this season, pitching to a 2.52 ERA and 0.92 WHIP, though that was only good enough for a split with each team winning two of those games. Clayton Kershaw (12-3, 2.28) will start for the Dodgers. As everyone knows by now, the narrative that Kershaw can't pitch in the playoffs still persists. He's 13-12 with a 4.19 ERA in his postseason career. He faced the Padres twice this year and posted a 0.75 ERA and 0.75 WHIP in 12 innings.

Getafe Defeats Real Madrid 0-1: in LaLiga

Real Madrid barely broke a sweat tonight. Ancelotti's boys controlled the game from start to finish. Luka made himself the man of the ball, and when the Croatian is in that role is going to be very difficult for other teams to take control of the match. Vinicius was a continuous threat on the left. Djene will have nightmares tonight. But his second half was not great, as if the team didn't want to attack. For the Merengues, the team clearly was thinking of the Champions League. The energy they put in the second half was the one of a team looking not to injure themselves and to try just to control the ball. Ancelotti did not seem content with the performance, with a World Cup looming and the Champions League in addition to el clásico next week. It is normal to think they played with the hand break on. The Champions of Europe and the defending champions of La Liga yet again showcased their caliber when the Los Blancos went on to take all three points against Getafe in a relatively easy fixture. This victory over their lowly positioned team helps Real Madrid temporarily take the top spot of the table, with Barcelona yet to play their match against Celta Vigo.

Three points hereby ensure the Madrid side will head into the El Classico with a positive mindset. Center-back Eder Militao scored the only goal of the game in what appears to be a rather uneventful match. The Madrid outfits scored the goal in the 3rd minute of the game and held on to their lead. Real Madrid not only enjoyed the majority of possession but also was the dominating side throughout the game, but Vinicius Jr and Co failed to find the back of the net despite creating a plethora of opportunities. Before the end of the first half, penalty claims for a foul on Vinicius were canceled by the VAR.

Minutes before the hour mark saw Rodrygo’s goal yet again overturned by the video assistant referee. Carlo Ancelotti decided to throw the dice and brought on a chain of substitutions to give the necessary rest to his starting XI players. However, with nothing major happening, the game came to an end with Real Madrid climbing to the top of the points table.

ONE PIECE FILM RED Is Set to Take Over Times Square New York

Riding on the success of a domestic release, the ONE PIECE FILM RED anime is ready to take the international market by storm starting with a massive New York Times Square billboard takeover. Timed with New York Comic Con, a full ad campaign is set to start on October 8 from 7:00 p.m.  8:00 p.m. EST. and will see multiple digital billboards with a countdown animation with all the Straw Hat Pirates with multiple memorable scenes. Said to be the largest out-of-home advertisement campaign in ONE PIECE series history, this marketing push sets up the North American release that’s slated for November 4. The film was already released in Japan on August 6, 2022, where it to date has amassed a box office revenue of ¥15.8 billion JPY (approximately $110 million USD).

The film, ONE PIECE FILM RED, produced by Toei Animation is based on one of Japan's most popular manga series by author Eiichiro Oda currently serialized in the world-renowned weekly shonen manga anthology, “Weekly Shonen Jump” published by Shueisha, Inc.

In Japan, the film was released on August 6, 2022 in theaters, and watched by over 1.57 million people in the first 2 days with a box office of over 2.25 billion yen. It continues to dominate the Japan box office by staying in the top ranking even after about two months since its release. TikTok Launch Live Shopping in America

Social media giant TikTok continues to push itself forward as a leader in the industry with new features and tech each year. Now, its next move looks to be tapping into the growing market of live shopping. Prior ecommerce integration from the app has allowed businesses to create transactions with customers easier, however, this effort is taking things a step further.

 

The news of this next step in live shopping exploration comes as Facebook has announced its immediate shutdown of its platform. Previous efforts to introduce live shopping to TikTok have taken place in Asia and the UK with mixed results. As the brand now looks toward the US, the Financial Times reports that TikTok is in talks to outsource the platform’s integration with California-based TalkShopLive. Utilizing livestreams, fans are able to tune in to a live broadcast of products from brands and independent shops with real time shopping options. A deal has yet to be finalized with TalkShopLive, however, by outsourcing the technology’s development, the new feature may be available soon in the US. In other live shopping news, Hypebeast is making its debut on POPSHOP LIVE this week, featuring media personality and fashion influencer Bling as the host.

Showtime Welcomes Former ESPN Reporter Rachel Nichols

Rachel Nichols will contribute to multiple programs and projects from Showtime Basketball across multiple platforms,” per the network. She also appeared on the video podcast All the Smoke With Matt Barnes and Stephen Jackson to announce the move. Nichols covered the NBA for ESPN since joining the network in 2004, but she stirred controversy last year when private comments she made about former colleague Maria Taylor leaked, implying that Taylor, who is Black, only got to host ESPN’s NBA Finals coverage because the network was “feeling pressure about” their “crappy longtime record on diversity.” Nichols apologized, but was later removed from the network’s NBA coverage, with her daily news show The Jump being cancelled as well. (Taylor left ESPN soon after to join NBC Sports.) The veteran NBA reporter and host left ESPN in January after comments she had made in a private phone call were published in The New York Times, sparking controversy at the sports TV juggernaut.

In the conversation with Adam Mendelsohn, an adviser to Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James and James’ agent, Rich Paul, Nichols sought advice about fellow ESPN NBA reporter Maria Taylor being selected to host NBA Countdown, the channel’s key pre- and postgame program, during the NBA Finals. “If you need to give her more things to do because you are feeling pressure about your crappy longtime record on diversity – which, by the way, I know personally from the female side of it – like, go for it,” Nichols said. “Just find it somewhere else. You are not going to find it from me or taking my thing away. I just want them [ESPN] to go somewhere else it’s in my contract, by the way; this job is in my contract in writing.” The conversation took place amid the novel coronavirus pandemic, with Nichols and other ESPN talent were not working out of the channel’s studios. Nichols made the call from a hotel in the NBA “bubble” it had set up. It also happened in the wake of the protests tied to the murder of George Floyd, with many companies Disney included reacting to the racial reckoning it sparked. Unbeknownst to Nichols, an ESPN employee recorded her comments and shared them internally, before they ended up in the Times. Nichols subsequently apologized to Taylor, and ESPN chief Jimmy Pitaro sent employees a memo promising to do a “deep dive” on the company’s diversity and inclusion efforts. “We respect and acknowledge there are a variety of feelings about what happened and the actions we took,” Pitaro wrote in the memo of the Times story. “The details of what took place last year are confidential, nuanced and complicated personnel matters. But understand this we have a much better story than what you’ve seen this week.” Ultimately, Nichols was removed from ESPN’s NBA coverage, and her daily show The Jump was canceled. Taylor subsequently left ESPN for NBC Sports, where she contributes to its Olympics and NFL coverage. Nichols will address her departure from ESPN for the first time in an episode of Showtime Basketball’s video podcast All the Smoke With Matt Barnes and Stephen Jackson being released Friday. One Piece Chapter 1062: Who Is Dr. Vegapunk?

In relation to a SBS question asked by a fan stating "How come Luffy's Devil Fruit was already in the Devil Fruit encyclopedia when he ate it?", Oda hinted that Vegapunk might know what Devil Fruits really are.

Dr. Vegapunk, long thought to be the smartest character in the world of One Piece, is frequently credited for most of the scientific innovations in the story, which are most often used by the World Government for nefarious means. Two of Vegapunk's creations were shown: the giant robot and the mechanical shark. On each of these creations were the numbers 12 and 03 respectively. On Vegapunk's chest, there is another set of numbers: 02.  Based on this, fans suspect that the female body presented in the chapter is yet another one of Vegapunk's creations. If this is true, it's still unknown why Vegapunk would have created this form, but there are a few speculated reasons. Being a master scientist who's seemingly uncovered most of the mysteries in the world, Vegapunk could have created the body to escape from old age or maybe this isn't the only "model" Vegapunk has created and there are actually hundreds of these Vegapunk bodies. Vegapunk has shown combat capabilities, as they were fearless in their assault on the robotic shark. It's possible that this is because Vegapunk is controlling the 02 model from a safe location, leaving themselves completely out of danger. There are plenty more mysteries to be solved in the final saga of One Piece. The "Egghead" arc came out of left field following the colossal conflict at Wano, but it's exactly what the story needed to wind down for a bit.

Vegapunk is famed as the greatest scientific genius the world has ever known, having tremendous knowledge and unmatched understanding in all fields of science, from cell biology to military technology, as noted by Franky. His scientific expertise is said to be at least 500 years ahead of his contemporaries. It seems that even in his youth, the scientist was a prodigy already considered a genius, but lacked the skills, funds, and materials to develop his inventions, although that did not stop him from theorizing the creation of Pacifista cyborgs, including their laser weapons back then. This is proven by the fact that Franky was able to recreate the technologies by self studying the blueprints Vegapunk left behind on his home island. Regardless, the creations and blueprints that he has left behind are considered invaluable, and any damage inflicted to them is considered a crime. Through his research, he discovered ways of allowing Marine ships to pass through the Calm Belts without fear of a Sea King attack, by covering the bottom of the ships with Seastone. He also discovered exactly how Devil Fruit powers are transferred over to a user, and was the scientist behind the method of adding Devil Fruit powers to inanimate objects, such as swords and guns. He is the one who modified Bartholomew Kuma into a cyborg, and has produced many Pacifista replicas of him, granting them some of the abilities of Kizaru's Devil Fruit in the process.These replicas bleed actual blood. However, they lack Kuma's own Devil Fruit abilities. After the two-year timeskip, Sentomaru revealed that the latest Pacifista had been further modified; these were later revealed to be the Seraphim, replicas of the Seven Warlords of the Sea in their youth but with Lunarian traits.The lasers that are installed into the Pacifista were apparently supposed to be so advanced, that only Vegapunk knew how to create them. It was also stated that the dragons found on Punk Hazard were of Vegapunk's own creation. He also seems to be physically strong, as he was able to survive Caesar Clown's mass murder weapon at its core explosion.

Vegapunk Origin

Vegapunk was born in the Future Country Baldimore on Karakuri Island. As a child, he designed and built several devices in his lab, including robotic animals. He also had hundreds of other ideas, ranging from weapons to experimenting with cellular structures. He once tried to create an in-ground heating system for the island's people using modified animals as his labor force. Unfortunately, Vegapunk lacked the tools and the funds needed to complete his project, but he was able to touch the people's hearts.

At some point, he worked alongside Vinsmoke Judge within MADS, an illegal research team, and discovered the blueprint of life known as the Lineage Factor. When the World Government caught wind of this, they deemed the research a threat, and Vegapunk was arrested.
 

Vegapunk Service to the World Government

After going to work for the World Government, he became famous for his Devil Fruit research and for discovering that Seastone can serve to counteract the effects of Devil Fruits on the user.

When Kaidou was captured by the Marines, Vegapunk was able to extract a sample of his Lineage Factor to replicate his Devil Fruit, although the results were noted to be unsatisfactory. The World Government wanted him to give the fruit to them, but Vegapunk considered it a failure and refused, leaving it on Punk Hazard. Four years prior to the current storyline, he was leading chemical weapons tests in his lab on Punk Hazard. His former colleague, Caesar Clown, created an extremely powerful chemical weapon, and when Vegapunk attempted to dismiss Caesar for his reckless behavior, Caesar retaliated by detonating that weapon, turning Punk Hazard into a wasteland. The island was closed off after this incident and a dragon that Vegapunk created was also abandoned. Since Vegapunk had been leading the experiments, he was blamed for the incident.

Before the timeskip, he focused on developing human weapons called Pacifista, with Bartholomew Kuma as the test subject and with his research on Kizaru's Devil Fruit powers. He somehow managed to synthesize them and become the only person in the world with the technological prowess to manufacture functional and tangible laser beams that cause damage, which the World Government now use in full force and mass production. Prior to the Summit War of Marineford, Vegapunk performed the final operation on Kuma, removing the last of Kuma's free will. However, upon Kuma's request, Vegapunk programmed the mission to protect the Thousand Sunny into Kuma's memory banks.

Prior to going to Mary Geoise, Issho met with Vegapunk and the scientist revealed an invention that Issho believed could render the Seven Warlords of the Sea system obsolete.

Try Guys Ned Fulmer Has Been Kicked After Cheating

The 'Try Guys' famous for trying all sorts of things, from food to women's clothing say they cut the cord with Ned following an internal review, explaining they did not see a path forward together. It appears Ned is already being scrubbed from a ton of 'Try Guys' content eagle-eyed fans say he suddenly disappeared from some recent videos, and he's been absent from the group's recent podcasts. With Fulmer’s departure, The Try Guys will comprise the three remaining members: Keith Habersberger, Zach Kornfeld and Eugene Lee Yang. The group had launched their careers while at BuzzFeed, before leaving the digital media company in June 2018 to form their own production company, 2nd Try. A spokesperson for the Try Guys did not respond to a request for more information.

The Try Guys, with their trademark willingness to try virtually anything, have produced videos featuring the guys doing everything from testing out labor-pain simulators to attempting Alaskan dog sledding, and from parallel parking 18-wheeler trucks to getting nail extensions. The Try Guys currently have 7.8 million subscribers on their YouTube channel. Among their first videos while they were at BuzzFeed was “Guys Try Ladies’ Underwear for the First Time,” which went viral in 2014 and currently has more than 22 million views. The group penned bestselling book “The Hidden Power of F---ing Up” and were featured in documentary film “Behind the Try.” The Try Guys also landed a show on Food Network, “No-Recipe Road Trip With the Try Guys,” produced by Beyond Productions, which premiered on the TV network and Discovery+ in August 2022. Popular comedy group The Try Guys have cut their ties with Ned Fulmer, one of the four founding members, who admitted that he had a “consensual” workplace affair. “Ned Fulmer is no longer working with The Try Guys,” the group said in a tweet Tuesday. “As a result of a thorough internal review, we do not see a path forward together. We thank you for your support as we navigate this change.” Fulmer, in a post on Twitter shortly after the Try Guys’ announcement, confirmed rumors that had circulated on social media alleging he had engaged in an extramarital affair. “Family should have always been my priority, but I lost focus and had a consensual workplace relationship,” Fulmer said in the post. “I’m sorry for any pain that my actions may have caused to the guys and the fans but most of all to Ariel,” he said, referring to his wife. Fulmer added, “The only thing that matters right now is my marriage and my children, and that’s where I’m going to focus my attention.” In a post on Instagram, Ariel Fulmer wrote, “Thanks to everyone who has reached out to me — it means a lot. Nothing is more important to me and Ned than our family, and all we request right now is that you respect our privacy for the sake of our kids.” Prior to the Try Guys announcement, fans posting in online forums had noticed that Fulmer has not appeared in the group’s recent videos and in some cases was edited out of previous episodes.
