Fans of The Boys received a thrilling sneak peek into Season 5, thanks to Antony Starr, who portrays the infamous Homelander. As filming commenced in Toronto, Starr shared a striking image of himself in full Homelander attire on Instagram, capturing the attention of eager viewers.

In his Instagram post, Starr greeted fans with a message: "Greetings and peace from season 5." Alongside the primary photo, he provided a detailed caption reflecting on the shoot and shared additional content from the previous season. Among the highlights was unreleased concept art for a scrapped sidekick character named "Homeboy." Starr humorously noted that this design was "Homie's fav design" and admitted he found the outfit amusing.

 

Homelander's Role Continues

The post also confirmed that Homelander's paternal role will remain prominent in the upcoming season. Starr was seen posing with Cameron Crovetti, who plays his on-screen son, Ryan. This hints at further development in their storyline, with Crovetti teasing the potential reveal of the "Homeboy" character, stating, "Ryan has yet to bless the world with that fit."

 

Costume Consistency Amidst Changes

Interestingly, the primary image of Homelander shows no significant alterations to his iconic blue, red, and gold costume. This might surprise fans who speculated that his increasing political influence could lead to a new outfit for Season 5. While the costume remains unchanged, the season promises to introduce new cast members, including former Supernatural actors Jared Padalecki and Misha Collins, who will join Jensen Ackles in undisclosed roles.

 

Anticipation for the Final Season

Production for Season 5 began in November 2024, with showrunner Eric Kripke revealing the first episode's title as "Fifteen Inches of Sheer Dynamite." He also hinted at the stakes of the season, stating, "Anyone who dies in season 5 will richly deserve it," during an interview with TV Guide.

As fans eagerly await more details, The Boys Season 5 does not yet have an official release date but is expected to premiere on Prime Video sometime in 2026. The excitement for the final season continues to build as viewers anticipate the ultimate showdown in this gripping series.

The Boys Casts Walking Dead Actor Jeffrey Dean Morgan in S4

Jeffrey Dean Morgan famous for his role as the villainous Negan Smith in AMC’s The Walking Dead  has been cast in season four of Amazon Prime Video‘s superhero drama series The Boys. Morgan’s role in the series has not yet been revealed, but his casting marks his reunion with The Boys showrunner Eric Kripke, who he previously worked with while starring in Supernatural.

 

Morgan is the latest Supernatural actor to be recruited for The Boys, following Jensen Ackles, who joined the series in the role of Soldier Boy in season three. For Morgan, this casting has been in the works for quite some time the actor took to Twitter in 2020 to share his excitement about the series, to which Kripke responded with a friendly offer to join the show for season three. Morgan joins The Boys’ fourth season alongside newcomers Valorie Curry and Susan Heyward, and series regulars Karl Urban, Jack Quaid, Antony Starr, Erin Moriarty, Karen Fukuhara, Jessie T. Usher, Laz Alonso, Chace Crawford, Colby Minifie and Claudia Doumit, among others. Production on the next installment is already underway. The fourth season is expected to arrive between the summer of 2023 and spring of 2024.
