No need to get all cloney with it. Why leap to a genetically engineered conclusion before a natural one? They could very easily be identical twins. One to be raised as a celestial dragons and one to be cast down to the world below as a simple statement on nurture over nature. Don’t really see what shanks being a clone adds to things other than being not only figuratively but also literally manufactured tension. Didn't lilith say they made this perfect cloning technology explicitly so the world government couldn't keep tabs on vp as he traveled. They of course utilize cloning, but I doubt the wg knows about the perfected cloning device in this chapter. Otherwise, it definitely would have been a specific target in the egghead assault.
