He can then use them as omens, which can be used to power up himself, others, or be used as weapons. Maybe it depends how much he "dominated" someone as to how much he can absorb from that person. It could explain why he can suddenly change into the size of a demon, has a body with characteristics we've seen in other characters, and use different types of attacks and weapons.   

 

I’m guessing the “inherent powers within all living things” is referring to the power of imagination or something related to the mind. Corruption is also a wicked form of imagination, a lust for power. I still can’t get over his design and how it ties into these things, it’s so interesting. He has an ogre appearance like kaido and also a lunarian’s hair and flame like king. And now he can fucking stretch and become a giant like luffy. He can basically do whatever he wants. 

 

I've seen the relationship between imu and joyboy be compared to guts and griffith from berserk, but it's really looking like that imu, despite being so unbelievably powerful and being able to get one over joyboy, had and still has some inferiority complex. Joyboy to imu is like the thorn that will never go away. Despite 800 years passing. It’s crazy how strong elbaf’s strongest warrior is. First, harold who was as strong as rocks. Then loki who could fight with enhanced harold with imu’s power and imu who was beating up everyone. No wonder everyone avoids elbaf.  At this point, i think oda is pacing elbaph end at a clean 1200. Which means about 19-20 chapters left.

In egghead terms that would be the time from kuma sacrificing his memories in his flashback all the way to the strawhats escaping thanks to the haki knot. In that much time we got the end of kumas flashback, the fight with saturn, the arrival of the giants, the other gorosei showing up, and all of vegapunks speech, so there's a lot that could still happen!
