Shuri simping for brook icked me but i like how much barriers he puts. Some other manga would have let it more ambiguous. The chapter almost seems to set a commentary on this dynamic as brook also simped to a parent figure shuri and brook are really similar down the line. No wonder they get along.
For the first time since pretty much the start of elbaf, i'm back in the heart of the piece. I don't think that the breaks are too much. I think oda has been making so many macro strategic payoff story moves in the past four years that we've honestly become a bit dare i say it spoiled for content pacing post-wano, and elbaf has just been so far confusing. Think about how far the journey has come in the last decade since zou vs. The decade prior. So so much! I'm guessing this is gonna end up with shuri joining the gods knights and being forced to end her father's life. I do wonder if she went willingly or if it was similar to kuma where she only joined in order to stop the wg from hurting her family. We saw kuma and shuri in the god valley flashback which would've been before haralds 'betrayal' so she would've been added to the manmayer family for a good decade or two after the patricide incident.
World nobles really suck man, brooke didn't even believe she was forced to do all that shit until the current time around 50-60 years later!
