Red Dead Redemption 2 Leak Reveals New Cut Content

New Red Dead Redemption 2 cut content has surfaced online. When RDR2 launched in 2018 via the PS4 and Xbox One, it had a plethora of content. It's the type of game you can get lost in for hundreds of hours. That said, it was once even longer and meatier. Over the course of development, content was cut from the game, which is the case with virtually every game, especially ones the size and ambition of Red Dead Redemption 2. Over time, some of this cut content has leaked.

The latest cut content to surface online comes way of Twitter users VideoTech and Noru, who revealed the latest cut content showing that there was once scarlet fever notices hanging around Armadillo in an earlier version of the game.

As pointed out, in the first game, Marshall Johnson notes that Armadillo was ravaged by scarlet fever. In other words, this is likely a reference to that, but for now, it's unclear if this was linked to a mission or something of greater significance. You'd assume it was, because there's really no other explanation for why it would be cut.

For now, all Red Dead Redemption fans can do is speculate. Rockstar Games hasn't commented on any of this yet, and it's unlikely it will. The company has a pretty strict policy of not commenting on leaks. That said, if a comment is provided, we will be sure to update this post with whatever is shared.

Red Dead Redemption 2 is available via the PS4, Xbox One, PC, and Google Stadia. At the moment of publishing, there's been no word of the game coming to PS5 or Xbox Series X.

Cyberpunk 2077 Is Shorter Than The Witcher 3 And There's a Good Reason Why

When Cyberpunk 2077 releases this November via the PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X, Xbox One, and PC it will offer dozens and dozens and dozens and dozens of hours of content. However, its main story will be shorter than CD Projekt Red's most recent major release: The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, or more specifically, "slightly shorter."

When The Witcher 3 launched in 2015, it did so with a main story that takes 50-60 hours to complete on average. This is just the main story though. If you want to do the bulk of side content and the main story, you're talking at least 100 hours. Meanwhile, a completionist playthrough is going to range from 170 to 200 hours.

Cyberpunk 2077 is equally big and ambitious, but for the main story, the Polish developer wanted to tighten things up a bit in order to ensure everyone sees the game to completion. Speaking about this, senior quest designer on the game Patrick K. Mills confirmed that a majority of people who played The Witcher 3 never beat the main story. For Cyberpunk 2077, CDPR doesn't want this to be the case.

"We do know that the main story run in Cyberpunk 2077 is slightly shorter than The Witcher 3, because we got a lot of complaints about The Witcher 3's main story just being too long," said Mills. "Looking at the metrics you see a tremendous number of people played through The Witcher 3 really far, but never made it to the end. We want you to see this whole story. So we did shorten the main story, but there's lots to do."

Mills notes that right now CD Projekt Red doesn't have a number for a "completionist" playthrough of the game, but it does sound like it's going to be a big number, just like The Witcher 3. As you will know if you played The Witcher 3, its main campaign is excellent, but it is indeed long. So it's good to head CD Projekt Red hasn't made this same mistake with the Cyberpunk 2077, though its campaign will still be very far from short.

Assassin's Creed Valhalla Reveals Gameplay Feature Straight Out of Mortal Kombat

Assassin's Creed Valhalla has revealed a new gameplay feature that looks like it's straight out of Mortal Kombat. Earlier this week, Ubisoft revealed a huge slab of new gameplay footage of the upcoming PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X, Xbox One, PC, and Google Stadia game. And during this footage, Ubisoft unveiled a new gameplay feature featuring a kill transition that showed an x-ray look at the enemy's bones breaking like it was a Mortal Kombat 11 brutality.

At the time, some suspected this was just a little flair for the reveal, but since then game director Benoit Richter has confirmed that these extra grisly kills can happen during gameplay. Further, it sounds like they will be triggered by the player. In other words, not random. However, it also sounds like players won't be able to do it often. Richter notes it only happens in certain situations. What these situations are, is unclear, but it sounds like it will be more of a treat than a common occurrence.

Of course, this touch may seem a bit unnecessary, especially in the context of the series, but given the Viking theme of this entry, it seems fitting.

Assassin's Creed Valhalla is set to release worldwide on November 17 via the PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X, Xbox One, PC, and Google Stadia.

"In Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, you are Eivor, a fierce Viking warrior raised on tales of battle and glory," reads an official pitch of the game. "Explore a dynamic and beautiful open world set against the brutal backdrop of England’s Dark Ages. Raid your enemies, grow your settlement, and build your political power in your quest to earn your place among the gods in Valhalla."
