Detail that i just realized, both of brook's flashbacks have an opening with him loudly waking people with music and a giant smile on his face. In the first flashback, it was the opening of chapter 487, which wasn't the opening of the flashback since there were two pages in 486 but close enough. Nice way of tying these two versions of brook together. Wording is different in english, but i wonder if part of it is the same in japanese.
Comparing the two versions of brook makes me really focus in on the scar he has when he's 38. Guess he's getting that when esperia ceases to exist. The glasses also stand out, but since he doesn't have them in the present, i'm assuming they won't be a plot point probably. I can't lie this pivot to the brook flashback feels a bit odd but i trust oda will have this tie to imu and the current in a huge and meaningful way. As, yeah, i get gunko/shuri is one of the god knights, so a backstory about her and she got there is key but...Right now? During the one doubt biggest battle in the modern timeliness of one piece (the king of the world vs loki at his strongest and its a legit back and forth battle)?? Also with imu i guess name dropping a douzan as an powerful entity he couldn't control and so he eliminated?? Gotta be a void century callback somehow imo.
So, thats throwing me off a bit but i do like brook and tbh his time to shine is now even though...Gives me less hope about usopp tbh.
Now for brooks flashback...Lol i get to show how brook, shuri, and the royal kingdom he was involved was a "happy family" but what lmao??
Brook outright in front of shuri and king reuven...Yeah i your mother/wife is the love my life and im just wait for you (the king) to pass away to get her formally and then shuri (7 at the time) talking about...My mother's taken but take me when i get of age??? Lmao again i get it trying to be sweet and silly but what??
But yeah im cool with this flashback and more lore piece but eh...About the timing tbh. Real eh.
