Fortnite Leak Reveals Exciting New Chapter 6 Season 3 Battle Pass Skin

A well-known Fortnite leaker has unveiled details about three new skins that are set to feature in the Chapter 6 Season 3 battle pass, including fan-favorite characters Superman and Robin. As Fortnite approaches the conclusion of its Galactic Battle mini-season, players have enjoyed the addition of iconic figures such as Emperor Palpatine, General Grievous, and Mace Windu.

The Galactic Battle mini-season will wrap up with the highly anticipated Death Star Sabotage live event on June 7. However, this won't be the last time players encounter Star Wars within the game. During the recent State of Unreal presentation, Epic Games announced plans to introduce Star Wars tools to the Unreal Editor in Fortnite.

Fortnite Leak Reveals Exciting New Chapter 6 Season 3 Battle Pass Skin

This exciting development will empower players to create their own Star Wars-themed experiences, allowing them to bring beloved characters, locations, and items to life in innovative ways. These unique creations can be shared with the entire Fortnite community, offering players a chance to explore experiences beyond the traditional game modes crafted by Epic.

In a recent Twitter post, prominent leaker ShiinaBR shared an image showcasing three upcoming battle pass skins for Chapter 6 Season 3. At the center of the image is a new rendition of the iconic character Superman. This version of Superman departs from the traditional comic book look, instead drawing inspiration from actor David Corenswet, who will portray the superhero in the upcoming film directed by James Gunn, set to premiere on July 11.

Fans are eagerly anticipating these new additions, which promise to enhance the vibrant world of Fortnite.

Fortnite Season 4 Begins

Fortnite’s newest season is here and it takes players to a world where everything is shiny and chrome. Fortnite: Chapter 3 Season 4 is called Paradise, and brings new powers, weapons, and locations to the game, as well as a new battle pass with skins like Spider-Gwen. The game’s biggest new addition is the Chrome Splash, which lets players make walls penetrable, allowing you to shoot through them, if you want, or even just jump through them, if that’s easier.

Players can also throw the Chrome Splash on themselves, giving them new powers, including the ability to dash mid-air (also through walls), and to become a silver-y blob while sprinting. Paradise brings more changes to the map as well, adding the Herald’s Sanctum as a point of interest, and updating areas like Condo Canyon to float in the sky. These new floating POIs will only be accessible via D-Launchers, which are spread out throughout the island. Players can also find certain weapons that have been Chromified. These weapons will include the EvoChrome Shotgun and EvoChrome Burst Rifle and can be looted from Chrome Chests. Along with their new effects and unique damage, the weapons will also upgrade their rarity the more you damage enemies with them. On top of the new Chrome weapons, Epic is also bringing back a variety of weapons from last season’s arsenal, as well as weapons that have been in the Vault for the last several seasons.

Naomi Osaka is coming to Fortnite

The weird world of Fortnite is adding another celebrity to its ranks. Tennis star and noted Overwatch fan Naomi Osaka will be joining the battle royale with two different character skins that go on sale starting March 3rd. One outfit has some clear tennis influences, while the other is called the “dark priestess” outfit, and both come with an assortment of matching accessories.
Osaka will be showing off her in-game character a bit early when she streams with Twitch star Berleezy on March 1st at 7PM ET. Real-world stars have steadily been creeping their way into Fortnite, most recently with the addition of Silk Sonic duo Bruno Mars and Anderson .Paak, along with multiple versions of Tom Holland. When it comes to athletes, Osaka joins some big names including LeBron James and Neymar Jr. Fortnite kicked off its third chapter last December, and so far that’s included everything from giant monsters to an art gallery to a big collaborative event with the NBA. The game’s next season is expected to debut in March.

The New Metaverse Gold Rush

The company formerly known as Facebook has bet big on the metaverse. CEO Mark Zuckerberg hyped the already popular term in October, when he changed the company’s name to Meta and led viewers through its dizzying vision of the future. But “the metaverse” is a much bigger and more confusing idea.

From its origins in science fiction, it’s become a catchall for anything that mixes people’s physical and virtual lives. That includes virtual and augmented reality headsets; 3D virtual worlds like Fortnite, Roblox, and Minecraft; and decentralized Web3 services including cryptocurrency and non-fungible tokens or NFTs. Lots of “metaverse” proponents don’t agree on a single definition for the word or on how much people are already living in it. While Meta is making big investments, other companies have already built metaverse-style platforms some, like Second Life developer Linden Lab, years before Facebook even existed. Here, we delve into the ambiguities of 2021’s most omnipresent tech buzzword and why it might not look like any of these companies have predicted.

Balenciaga Joins Fortnite in the Metaverse

Balenciaga has joined forces with Fortnite on a series of in-game outfits and a limited-run physical apparel collection. Fortnite’s Balenciaga Fit Set amps up the wardrobes of the game’s most popular characters: Ramirez, Knight, Doggo and Banshee. Modeled as digital takes on the brand’s recent runway designs, each outfit is complete with Balenciaga backblings, pickaxes, gliders, wraps and several other accessories for unique styling options. “We took four fan-favorite Fortnite characters and reached into the Balenciaga archive to create four meticulously detailed outfits and a variety of accessories,” Emily Levy, Senior Manager of Partnerships at Epic Games. “The looks were inspired by pieces from several Balenciaga collections.” Specifically, Ramirez and Knight draw inspiration from the label’s Fall 2021 collection, Doggo cites the House’s Spring 2021 line and Banshee takes cues from Spring 2020.
“In close collaboration with Balenciaga’s design team, our artists at Epic used new techniques in Unreal Engine to accurately represent the look and feel of Balenciaga’s iconic fabrics, and designs when creating the new set of Outfits in Unreal,” she added. In tandem with the launch of the digital clothing, Fortnite also launched a community-driven living lookbook campaign inside the game with the Strange Times Featured Hub. Set in a “strange” city, the Hub hosts a Balenciaga retail store inspired by the label’s brick-and-mortar locations. There, billboards boasting sartorial imagery promoting the collaboration will showcase the Fortnite community’s commitment to style. Taking the partnership one step further, Fortnite and Balenciaga have also crafted a limited-run physical apparel collection, featuring a slew of hats, T-shirts, hoodies and jackets fronting dual branding in white, red and black colorways. The real-life clothing will hit shelves on September 20 and September 21, depending on the region. “Our partnership with Epic didn’t start with Fortnite, actually,” said Demna Gvasalia, artistic director at Balenciaga, in a statement. “It started with our own first video game, Afterworld, which we built using Unreal Engine to debut our Fall 2021 collection. From there, we have continued to be inspired by the creativity of Unreal and Fortnite communities. It made total sense, to me, that we collaborate further by creating these authentic Balenciaga looks for Fortnite and a new physical Fortnite clothing series for our stores.” Take a look at the in-game outfits and physical clothing collaborations above.

Netflix Is Expanding Into Video Games

Eyeing an even bigger slice of the media pie, Netflix is planning an imminent expansion into the video game space, and has reportedly tapped a former Electronic Arts and Facebook executive to helm the initiative. Netflix had selected Mike Verdu most recently vice president of augmented reality and virtual reality content at Facebook to serve as vice president of game development. Once installed at the platform, Verdu will report to Chief Operating Officer Greg Peters.

The announcement represents just the latest push by Netflix into a space beyond streaming content like television shows and movies a realm that the platform has signaled to its 200 million subscribers for years that it was eager to delve into. Netflix first hinted at a potential market expansion during the E3 gaming conference in 2019, when it announced a planned mobile game based on the “Stranger Things” franchise. Since then, Netflix has been less than coy about its proposed expansion: In a 2019 letter to shareholders, the company named Fortnite a popular video game known that has something to do with dancing, if I’m not mistaken as its primary competition. And in May of 2021, The Information first reported that Netflix was seeking an executive to boost its investments in the gaming space. It’s also not the first time Netflix has sought to blur the line between traditional streaming content and more avant-garde media, including recent interactive features like Black Mirror: Bandersnatch and Carmen Sandiego. If the stock market is to be trusted and let’s face it, it’s not Netflix is making moves that appeal to stakeholders, with shares rising 2% in extended trading on Wednesday following the announcement of Verdu’s appointment. If all this keeps going apace, it looks like we’d all better brace ourselves for My Octopus Teacher: The Interactive Deep Sea Experience by 2025.

Fortnite: Save the World on Mac is Shutting Down

Fortnite, the Save the World version, not the Battle Royale game, will be shutting down on Mac devices soon. The end of the game on that platform is the latest development in the ongoing legal battle between Epic Games and Apple. Epic Games said it’s no longer able to release patches for its games on Mac devices because of the disputes, and as a result of that, the game will be unplayable later this month.

Epic Games announced its plans to shutter Save the World on Mac devices in a post on the game’s site this week. Beginning September 23rd, the developer announced, the game will no longer be playable.

“Apple is preventing Epic from signing games and patches for distribution on Mac, which ends our ability to develop and offer Fortnite: Save the World for the platform,” Epic Games said. “Specifically, our upcoming v14.20 release will cause bugs for players on v13.40, resulting in a very poor experience. Since we are no longer able to sign updates and release fixes for these issues, beginning September 23, 2020, Fortnite: Save the World will no longer be playable on macOS.”

If you played Save the World at any point between September 17, 2019, to September 17, 2020, you’ll be getting a refund for whatever edition of the game your purchased and any V-Bucks you may have spent on Llamas on the Mac platform. Save the World Starter Packs are no longer available to purchase as of this week.

If you’ve been playing Fortnite Battle Royale on your Mac devices, you’re in luck. That version of the game is still up and running, but because of the legal situation between the two companies, it won’t be getting anymore updates for the time being. The v13.40 build is the latest update to go live on that platform – the one that added cars to the game – so if you’re playing on a Mac, you’re far behind everyone else that’s been enjoying the current Marvel-themed season and all the updates that have come with it.

Misfits Gaming renews Milk It! campaign partnership

North American organisation Misfits Gaming has extended its partnership with Milk It!, a marketing campaign produced by the Milk Processor Education Program (MilkPEP). The partnership, which originally began in April 2019, will continue to focus on the organisation’s professional Fortnite players and streamers throughout 2020. In addition to a Milk It! logo being present on the players’ jerseys, the campaign will sponsor content including further “Misfits Story” videos and coverage related to the expected Fortnite World Cup 2020. Misfits Gaming also plans to host an expanded Fortnite Block Party event along with giveaways in partnership with the campaign.

Miranda Abney, Senior Director of Marketing for the Milk It! campaign, commented in a release: “Milk has stuff kids and teens need to do more of what they love, and Milk It! is excited to help bring kids even more opportunities to share real moments with their favorite Misfits gamers this year. From watch parties to giveaways and team events, Milk It! has some awesome opportunities lined up to bring out players’ best game.” Misfits Gaming also competes in the League of Legends European Championship (LEC) and is the organisation behind the Overwatch League’s Florida Mayhem and the Call of Duty League’s Florida Mutineers. The partnership only applies to its Fortnite players, however. Ben Spoont, Co-founder and CEO of Misfits Gaming, added: “The Misfits family is always looking for new and unique ways to interact with our amazing community. We’re excited to bring our fans closer to our Fortnite players through continued events and content in partnership with Milk It!” Milk It! is a unique non-endemic sponsor in esports, and its partnership with Misfits Gamingmust be reaching the right audience for it to add another year to the deal.
