This very question is why andor is my favorite tv show. Also, oda has a portrait of che in his office. He definitely believes that violence is justified to overthrow tyranny. I hope oda tackles this topic with the nuance it deserves, because it's not easy and a lot of stories have fucked it up (attack on titan). This chapter seems like a decent build up. Loki's internal dialogue after asking Luffy to free him was that Luffy would be the first person he kills when he's free.
On the other hand the fact that Loki's "friend" thinks he's kind, and the fact that Luffy isn't fully set on whether he's evil or not tells me there's a lot more to it. Outside of CP9, Luffy and Zoro have good insight into people. Stuff like being confident that he could "trick" Aokiji into leaving his crew alone if he agreed to a one on one, knowing Robin wasn't evil, etc.. I imagine there's more to it.
My full left field prediction is that Loki embraces the idea of Nika being a destroyer. He probably knows history about the world and why the giants aren't aligned with the WG. I bet Harold's idea of "peace" was to join the WG, which would probably make it so Wano is the only real problem-child at that point. Loki probably killed him to avoid this. The giants were enough of a force that Big Mom was convinced they'd tip the scale for her against the other Yonko and let her become the PK.
Loki's childhood seems very similar to Oden's, where he was an unstoppable force from a young age.
The main unknowns are why Shanks would go out of his way to capture Loki, and what ability Loki took when he killed his father.
For the next few chapters, it seems like they have to find the key before they go help Loki. I wonder if that means they won't overlap with the holy knights. Based on the first spoiler I was kind of assuming we'd end up with a Zoro situation where Loki is bound and threatened by death (in a very unfair way) but is freed by Luffy and as such owes him. Curious if the Heaven's Knights have the key since they're asking him to join and came from the castle where the key would be.
I also feel like Nami's relationship to Lola is definitely going to come into play somehow. I really wonder if Loki has feelings for her still, and maybe went out to sea after her. That'd be the main way Lola could creep up in conversation. Imagine Loki left 6 years ago to chase after Lola after being rejected, killing his dad for trying to stop him, escaping to sea only to be caught by Shanks which sets the events in motion for Lola to end up on Thriller Bark, and Nami to get Big Mom's Vivre Card essentially saving the crew in WCI.
