I figured they'd be the antagonists for this arc but because they'd be following after the strawhats. Glad that luffy immediately has a moment with jarul, I know most people don't really care, but I really want some connection to be made between big mom's past and the present. The only way for luffy to listen to serious stories like that, and given his age I'd expect jarul to have some nika lore too, is to have the messenger have some weird quirk and a sword through the fucking head definitely qualifies.
What if they take loki and luffy goes to rescue him order to make good on whatever he and loki privately agreed to? Could pull us even more rapidly into end game sequences.
