The bandaged / wrapped femme (?) figure looks to have similar powers to the gorosei - the eye contact making bog fall in pain made me think of saturn just killing people with a glare. I’m already convinced magic is real ( as in a learnable skill with somewhat formalized rules ) in one piece and this feels like another practitioner - it’d be so interesting if this magic knowledge is locked up tight and only the very top elites get access to it. Would be a great reason to wipe out all history / knowledge, taking away the knowledge of a dangerous weapon or tool really squashes the odds of rebellion.
The 800 years really starts to make sense now given that the oldest living giant is ~400 - this would mean that jaruls grandfather would have to live to 400 years old to have to have been around for the tail end of the void century at his birth. Giants are likely just as in the dark as everyone else - mostly - considering they were a warrior civilization until recently, I could easily see giants not living long enough ( on average ) to really pass down the deep lore of the world before it gets lost.
Anyone else find bibelot to be super suspicious / weird? It’s weird that they call out bibelots power also works on inorganic items - vp is implying that it’s a known thing organic things grow with his power and just before that saul mentions that all they know about them is that he’s hundreds of years old. I feel unhinged to say this but could bibelot have made elbaph? Like, in a literal sense - in my mind he maybe gigantified the people who survived the original flooding by escaping to an ancient adam tree? Elbaph isn’t just a land of giant people, the entire place is gigantified, animals and all.
Scooper as colon dad theories are gonna do numbers, wouldn’t shock me if colon is like 15 - +20 years old which would line up neatly with roger’s execution. I’m not sold on it yet but could totally buy it
I’m taking a wild guess here but I wonder if elbaph is where luffy learns some kind of magic? Or maybe several straw hats ( besides nami who literally studied with weather wizards ). The sun stones are literal magic and the teleportation circles seem like literal magic as well - luffy is only going to get stronger haki, better df powers and better physically as time goes on but it would be both a) very fun to see luffy do more cartoon logic shit outside of nika form if he can learn some kind of reality magic and b) the gorosei are clearly only affected by an insane acoc haki like jbs or some other power that’s yet to be revealed, it’s likely imu is the same, luffy needs to learn whatever power that’s is and it’s likely a new power set we haven’t encountered explicitly yet.
I say explicit because there seems to be hints of it everywhere if you look for it - but ramble over, point is, maybe luffy or robin or a bunch of strawhats are going to learn some kind of new powers to compete at a higher level and it won’t be haki, but something mimicking magic.
