Google Docs is the word processor used by many for writing everything from articles to emails. Writing is hard, so many lean on Docs' built-in spell checker to improve their writing. The native spell checker works well, but third-party services may offer better suggestions. Grammarly is one of the best Google Chrome extensions and offers a more enhanced check of your spelling and grammar. And if you've recently swapped out your laptop for a top-of-the-line Chromebook, you're probably missing Microsoft Word's Editor and other advanced features. Don't worry, Grammarly is a soilid addition to Google Docs that rivals Microsoft Editor.

The Grammarly icon: When you're in a Google Doc with Grammarly enabled, there is an icon in the lower-right corner. This icon tells you information at a glance. Google Reveals Pixel Smartwatch

Smartwatches have become an important part of the wearables market over the past few years. Thanks to the likes of Apple, the appeal for these devices has grown significantly in recent times. While Android also had its fair share of smartwatch offerings, Google never had one in its lineup. Now, it appears that Google is finally entering the market as it announced its own smartwatch at Google IO 2022. While this is the first time the tech giant is officially releasing a Pixel-branded smartwatch, it's not Google's first attempt. Back in 2016, when Google first unveiled its Pixel phone, the company almost launched a Pixel smartwatch along with it.

But the idea was scrapped owing to Google's uncertainty around the product. Fast-forward a few years later, Google has added the Pixel 6 to its lineup and is now getting ready to expand the company's gadget portfolio with the Pixel Watch. In the latest edition of its annual developer conference, Google IO 2022, the tech giant finally debuted the Pixel Watch. The design features a familiar circular look along with a tactile crown and side button. The Pixel Watch will run an updated Wear OS 3 where it will house a relatively new UI, smart notifications as well as offer better navigation. Additionally, users can expect the watch to include Google's native apps such as Google Maps, Assistant, Wallet, and Home among others. Though it may not be a high-priced special edition like the Tag Heuer Super Mario smartwatch, Google says the Pixel Watch will be a "premium-priced product" and that it will launch in the coming fall. Another notable part of the Pixel Watch announcement was its integration with Fitbit. Though it was likely always on the cards after Google acquired the company for $2.1 billion back in 2019. Rick Osterloh, Google’s Senior Vice President of devices and services has stated this will go beyond customizations and that the integration will be instilled across the Pixel Watch experience. However, Osterloh has also mentioned that Google data and Fitbit data will remain private and separate owing to a promise the Stadia owner made to regulators when it bought Fitbit. In terms of compatibility, the Pixel Watch will need a Google account and a phone running Android 8.0 or later. This means the upcoming smartwatch will be incompatible with iPhones. Apart from this, Google has yet to share more specific details about the Pixel Watch. Regardless, it will be interesting to see what the reception will be like for Google's own smartwatch, especially amid the immense popularity of the Apple Watch.

Who is the French artist Rosa Bonheur?

Her stunningly realistic paintings of animals garnered her international acclaim during her lifetime and inspired generations of female artists to come. Two centuries ago, the educational opportunities available to women in the art world were limited. But art seemed to be in Rosa Bonheur's blood. Four years later, she released the piece "The Horse Fair," capturing the horse market in Paris. It would become her most popular work of art, remaining on exhibit at the New York’s Metropolitan Museum of Art.

In 1865, Bonheur was awarded the Legion of Honor, one of France's most prestigious awards. Born into a family of painters, the French artist was sketching with pencil and paper before she could talk. With the encouragement and tutelage of her father, a landscape and portrait painter, Bonheur became one of the most important female painters of the 19th century. Her stunningly realistic paintings of horses, lions and other animals garnered her international acclaim during her lifetime. To honor Bonheur's contribution to the art world and a career that inspired generations of female artists to come, Google dedicated its Doodle on Wednesday to the artist on her 200th birthday. Born in Bordeaux, France, on March 16, 1822, Bonheur had a difficult time in school. She initially struggled with reading and writing, only learning with the help of her mother, who asked her to draw an animal next to letters of the alphabet. She was frequently unruly and rebellious, leading to frequent expulsions from school. After a failed apprenticeship as a seamstress at the age of 12, Bonheur's father began instructing her in art and painting. With the love of animals instilled in her at a young age by her mother, Bonheur began studying domesticated animals in fields and pastures around Paris and copying paintings at the Louvre museum. She achieved early success in 1849 with Ploughing in the Nivernais, an oil on canvas depicting oxen ploughing the land that's now on display at the Musée d'Orsay in Paris. Her most famous work of art is The Horse Fair, an epic painting completed in 1855 that measures eight feet high and 16 feet wide. Ten years later, Bonheur was awarded the Grand Cross of the Legion of Honor by Empress Eugenie, the first time the award was bestowed on a female artist. Bonheur died in 1899 at the age of 77 and was buried beside her lifelong companion Nathalie Micas in Père Lachaise Cemetery.

Pixel 4A release date, specs rumors: Google is unlikely adding 5G support to the mid-range smartphone

Smartphone manufacturers are expected to make 2020 the year when 5G connectivity becomes a staple feature in new devices. However, there is a good chance that Google would wait until later this year to do that and announce Pixel 4A as just an LTE-compatible device.

Pixel 4A specs, price

There have been companies that already proved a device does not have to be too expensive to have 5G support. But the reason Google is unlikely to provide that feature on Pixel 4A is not just about the pricing of the rumored device.

First, it should be noted that some smartphone makers went ahead and introduced 5G to some premium devices last year. Google, however, did not do it for the Pixel 4 and 4 XL and that was not a deal-breaker at the time. Infrastructures to make 5G more accessible was not yet widely available last year, and they are only expected to grow in number throughout 2020.

Now that 2020 is here, should tech fans expect the first smartphone Google could announce this year – Pixel 4A – to have a 5G network? Maybe not yet. While the Pixel 4A is a much-awaited device, it is still not Google’s flagship. CNET pointed out that it does not make sense for 5G to arrive first on a mid-range smartphone rather than be the surprise for Google’s next premium smartphone lineup, dubbed as Pixel 5.

Considering Pixel 4A’s competition so far, forcing it to have 5G connectivity might also be an unnecessary move. Right now, one of the rivals Pixel 4A would have in the market is the recently announced iPhone SE, and it does not have 5G because Apple is also rumored to reserve that feature for the iPhone 12 series in fall.

There have also been previous reports that the Pixel 4A will be powered by Snapdragon 730. While it is an ample processor for a mid-range smartphone, it does not support a modem to make a 5G network possible for the device.

Pixel 4A release date

Google is still expected by many fans to make the month of May special despite announcing that it will not hold the I/O conference even virtually this year. Many are anticipating the company to still announce Pixel 4A this month. A recent report even suggested that May 22 could be the official launch date for the device.
