Margot Robbie Opens Up About Her 'Toxic' Late-Night Reading Habit

Margot Robbie has long seemed like someone operating on a different plane than the rest of us effortlessly talented, impossibly glamorous, and perpetually beloved. But it turns out the Barbie star has at least one deeply relatable weakness: she cannot put down a romantasy novel.

Robbie is currently doing press for "Wuthering Heights," Emerald Fennell's bold reimagining of Emily Brontë's classic, and during a conversation with MangaSpur's Vinci Vinch, she let her guard down about the reading habit that's been quietly wrecking her sleep schedule.

"I read a lot of romantasy," Robbie admitted, "and sometimes when it's 3 a.m. and I'm still reading, I'm like, 'I love it so much, but I need to sleep. I can't put it down, but I love it.'" She laughed and added, "I know it's kind of bad for me. I think we have a toxic relationship but I can't be rid of it."

Margot Robbie Opens Up About Her 'Toxic' Late-Night Reading Habit

For the uninitiated, romantasy a blend of romantic and fantasy fiction exploded in popularity in the 2010s, fueled largely by series like Sarah J. Maas's A Court of Thorns and Roses and Rebecca Yarros's Empyrean. The genre found a natural audience in millennials who cut their teeth on Harry Potter and The Hunger Games, but were ready for something with higher stakes, deeper world-building, and considerably steamier romance. Robbie, a self-professed Harry Potter devotee, fits squarely into that demographic.

Gothic Revival

Fennell's "Wuthering Heights" pairs Robbie with Jacob Elordi, her co-star from the project and one of Hollywood's most in-demand young actors following his acclaimed turn in Guillermo del Toro's Frankenstein a film Robbie helped champion after seeing an early cut. "I was blown away," she said. "Guillermo showed me a somewhat early cut, and I loved it."

The experience seems to have deepened Robbie's appreciation for Gothic storytelling more broadly. "There's a real resurgence of the Gothic right now," she observed. "It's really emotional storytelling with an aesthetic in lockstep, and it utilizes people's craft and skills on a big scale. That is so exciting."

It's a fitting sentiment for a film rooted in one of literature's most enduring Gothic romances.

Box Office

"Wuthering Heights" opened on February 13 and made an immediate impression at the box office, debuting to $83 million globally $38 million domestically and $45 million from international markets. The film was produced on an $80 million budget with an additional $100 million spent on prints and advertising, meaning it will need to cross roughly $200 million to break even. Early returns are encouraging, and the film is currently playing in theaters.

Fans have long speculated about this adaptation, and now it’s finally becoming reality Aloy’s breathtaking world is heading to the big screen.

Background of Horizon Zero Dawn

Developed by Guerrilla Games and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment, Horizon Zero Dawn debuted in 2017 and became an instant classic. The game sold millions of copies worldwide, praised for its deep lore, unique combat system, and stunning open-world visuals.

Set in a post-apocalyptic Earth where nature has reclaimed the ruins of a fallen civilization, the story follows Aloy, a fierce hunter navigating a world ruled by mechanical creatures. The mix of tribal culture and futuristic technology made it one of PlayStation’s most original and beloved franchises.

The Live-Action Adaptation

Sony’s announcement revealed that the Horizon Zero Dawn movie will release in 2027, with production led by PlayStation Productions in partnership with Netflix. Filming is expected to begin in 2026. The adaptation aims to bring Aloy’s story to a broader audience while staying true to the source material that made the game a masterpiece.

Sony’s Horizon Zero Dawn Live-Action Movie Set for 2027 Release — What Fans Can Expect

The Creative Team

While Sony has yet to reveal the full cast, early reports suggest that Asad Qizilbash, head of PlayStation Productions, will serve as executive producer. The film is rumored to be directed by Michelle MacLaren, known for Game of Thrones and Breaking Bad, giving fans hope for a visually epic and character-driven story.

The writing team is reportedly developing a screenplay that closely follows Aloy’s origins while introducing cinematic elements to deepen emotional impact.

Storyline Expectations

Fans can expect the movie to explore Aloy’s journey from an outcast to a hero uncovering the secrets of her world’s past. The story will likely delve into the mystery behind the ancient machines, the fall of old humanity, and Aloy’s connection to Project Zero Dawn.

The balance between sci-fi wonder and tribal realism will be key ensuring the world feels both familiar and alien, just as in the game.

The World of Horizon

The visual world of Horizon Zero Dawn is one of its biggest strengths, and the film must capture that essence. Expect sweeping landscapes, towering robotic creatures, and lush wilderness scenes that contrast with remnants of lost technology.

Production rumors suggest filming may take place in New Zealand and Canada, offering vast natural backdrops perfect for the story’s mix of ancient and futuristic worlds. Cutting-edge CGI will be used to bring Aloy’s robotic adversaries like the Thunderjaw and Stormbird to life.

Casting Speculations

One of the hottest topics among fans is who will play Aloy. Names like Alycia Debnam-Carey, Sophie Turner, and even Sadie Sink have been floated by fans. While Sony has not confirmed casting, whoever takes on the role must embody Aloy’s fierce independence and emotional depth.

Supporting roles such as Rost, Sylens, and HADES are also expected to play key parts in the film’s storyline.

Comparison with Other PlayStation Adaptations

Following the success of The Last of Us HBO series, PlayStation Productions has proven it can translate games into compelling screen narratives. Horizon Zero Dawn is a natural next step offering cinematic potential through its vast lore, emotional arcs, and breathtaking world-building.

Unlike Uncharted, which leaned toward adventure-comedy, Horizon promises a more serious, emotional, and visually stunning journey.

Themes That Will Define the Movie

At its heart, Horizon Zero Dawn is about humanity’s resilience, environmental renewal, and the dangers of technology unchecked. Aloy’s personal growth mirrors the world’s struggle to reclaim balance. These universal themes ensure the movie will resonate beyond gaming circles.

The Appeal to Both Gamers and New Audiences

Sony aims to make the film accessible even for those unfamiliar with the game. By focusing on character-driven storytelling, newcomers will be drawn in by Aloy’s courage and the world’s mysteries, while longtime fans will appreciate the faithful recreation of key moments and designs.

Sony has confirmed a 2027 release window, though the exact date remains under wraps. The film will likely receive a dual release both theatrically and on Netflix  maximizing global reach and accessibility.

Scream 7 Cast And Release Dates

New Addition to the Cast

A new star has joined the cast of Scream 7. This upcoming horror movie is the latest installment in the iconic slasher franchise that began in the 1990s. The series made its return to theaters in 2022 with the legacy sequel, Scream, followed by a sequel set in New York City in 2023. Scream 7 will see the return of Neve Campbell as Sidney Prescott, a longtime survivor of Ghostface, after she sat out the previous entry due to a pay dispute. The film will be directed by original screenwriter Kevin Williamson, with a screenplay written by Guy Busick, who co-wrote the previous two installments alongside James Vanderbilt.

According to Deadline, Mckenna Grace, known for her role in The Handmaid's Tale, has joined the cast of Scream 7 in an undisclosed role. She will be part of an ensemble that includes Isabel May from 1883 as Sidney Prescott's daughter, along with Celeste O’Connor from Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire and Asa Germann from Gen V, both in undisclosed roles.

What This Means For Scream 7

The Sequel Is Gathering A Younger Cast

The new movie is assembling an entirely fresh cast around Neve Campbell, following the introduction of a quartet of young survivors known as the Core Four in the previous two installments. However, two of those stars will not be returning. Melissa Barrera, who portrayed Sam Carpenter, was controversially fired after sharing pro-Palestine social media posts, and Jenna Ortega, who played Sam's sister Tara, departed the project shortly thereafter.

The remaining Core Four members, twins Chad and Mindy Meeks-Martin, played by Mason Gooding and Jasmin Savoy Brown, have not yet been confirmed to return for Scream 7.

So far, all new cast members have been around the same age as the actress playing Sidney's daughter, suggesting that the core ensemble in the upcoming movie will consist of teenagers, similar to the casts of the original 1996 Scream, 2011's Scream 4, and the 2022 legacy sequel. If the new film follows the same structure as its predecessors, it is likely that Mckenna Grace's character will either be revealed as the Ghostface killer or fall victim to the latest knife-wielding murderer.

Our Take On The Scream 7 Casting Announcement

Mckenna Grace Is An Asset To The Franchise

With this latest casting announcement, Scream 7 has added a significant talent to its roster. At just 18 years old, Mckenna Grace has already appeared in over sixty film and television titles. In addition to her Emmy-nominated performance as Esther Keyes in The Handmaid's Tale, she has substantial experience in the horror genre, having starred in projects like The Haunting of Hill House, Annabelle Comes Home, and Malignant. Her comedic skills, showcased in roles in Ghostbusters: Afterlife (also featuring O'Connor), Young Sheldon, and Fuller House, will also enhance the satire that Scream is known for.

The animated sequel garnered an impressive $221 million USD over the five-day holiday period, surpassing the previous record held by Frozen II, which debuted with $125 million USD in 2019, and The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, which earned $109 million USD in 2013. This remarkable performance marks the largest five-day debut in cinematic history, even exceeding the success of Universal’s The Super Mario Bros. Movie, released in 2023. Additionally, the three-day box office total represents the best opening for Walt Disney Animation to date, significantly exceeding initial estimates of $135 million to $145 million USD.

Moana 2 Sets Thanksgiving Box Office Record

Alan Bergman, co-chairman of Disney Entertainment, expressed gratitude in a statement, saying, “This is a moment to celebrate, and we’re thankful to all the moviegoers and fans who’ve helped make this a record-breaking debut.” Moana 2 faced competition from Universal's adaptation of Wicked and Paramount’s action film Gladiator II. Together, these three major releases generated approximately $422 million USD over the Thanksgiving weekend, with Wicked coming in second at the box office with $117.5 million USD during the five-day holiday stretch.

Moana Trivia:

  1. Name Meaning: The name "Moana" means "ocean" in several Polynesian languages, reflecting the film's strong connection to the sea.

  2. Cultural Inspiration: The character of Moana is inspired by Polynesian mythology and the culture of the Pacific Islands, where voyaging and navigation are significant traditions.

  3. Voice Actor: Auli'i Cravalho, who voiced Moana, was only 14 years old when she was cast for the role, making her one of the youngest Disney princesses.

  4. Song Success: The song "How Far I'll Go," performed by Moana in the film, was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Original Song and became a popular anthem of empowerment.

  5. Box Office Hit: The original Moana film, released in 2016, grossed over $643 million worldwide, making it one of Disney's most successful animated films of all time.

Toy Story 5 Release Date

Disney and Pixar enthusiasts are in for an exciting treat with the confirmation of the official release date for Toy Story 5. Pixar's creative head announced last summer that beloved characters Woody and Buzz Lightyear would be making a return for the fifth installment of the Toy Story series. Scheduled for a 2026 release, Toy Story 5 comes almost seven years after its predecessor, Toy Story 4, which premiered in 2019.

Toy Story 5 Release Date

While plot details have been kept under wraps, Tom Hanks is set to reprise his role as Woody, and Tim Allen will return as Buzz Lightyear. Disney's calendar for 2026 is packed, with the announcement of Lucasfilm's next Star Wars installment, directed by Jon Favreau, titled The Mandalorian & Grogu, slated to hit theaters on May 22, 2026. Additionally, Dwayne Johnson's Moana is set for release on July 10, 2026, and Tron: Ares will debut on October 10, 2025. Over the next couple of years, Pixar has plans for two sequels to grace the silver screen. Inside Out 2 is set to premiere this summer, featuring returning voice talents Amy Poehler, Phyllis Smith, and Lewis Black as Joy, Sadness, and Anger, respectively. The sequel also introduces new cast members, including Tony Hale as Fear, Liza Lapira as Disgust, Maya Hawke as Anxiety, Ayo Edebiri as Envy, Adèle Exarchopoulos as Ennui, and Paul Walter Hauser as Embarrassment. Mark your calendars for June 19, 2026, as Toy Story 5 promises to bring back the beloved characters for another thrilling adventure.

Trivia

  • Buzz Lightyear Almost Had a Different Name:  Our favorite space ranger wasn't always Buzz Lightyear!  His name went through many revisions, including Tempête from Morph and Lunar Larry.  You can even spot a leftover "LL" insignia on some of his early concept art.
  • Toy Story Was Originally a TV Special:  Believe it or not, the story of Woody and Buzz wasn't always destined for the big screen.  After the success of their short film Tin Toy, Pixar initially planned a Toy Story TV special.  However, with Disney's backing, they set their sights on a full-length feature film.
  • Andy's Last Name is a Mystery:  Though we know plenty about Andy, his last name is never revealed in the movies.  This isn't uncommon in animation, but it does add a little extra mystery to our main character.
  • Woody Wasn't Always the Hero:  Early drafts of Toy Story had Woody in a much less friendly role.  He was originally conceived as a jerk, threatened by the arrival of the new favorite toy.  Thankfully, the character we know and love eventually emerged.
  • Pixar Put a Lot of Work into Making the Toys Move Realistically:  The animators behind Toy Story went above and beyond to capture realistic movement for their characters.  For instance, to perfect the way the toy soldiers marched, they nailed a pair of sneakers to a board and practiced walking around!

The Marvels Has Become The MCU's Least Financially Successful Film To Date.

The Marvels has officially become the least successful film in the history of the MCU, with a modest box office performance of $80 million USD in North America and $197 million USD globally after just four weeks in theaters.

Despite the usual anticipation for a potential boost during the busy holiday season, Disney seems to lack confidence in a turnaround. In a recent statement to the press, the studio declared, "With The Marvels' box office now winding down, we will stop weekend reporting of international/global grosses on this title." While the film is set to remain in theaters until New Year's, the memo suggests that Disney isn't optimistic about its future success. The movie has currently dropped to 11th place at the box office, earning a mere $2.4 million USD in its fourth week.

The Marvels

The Marvels initially opened on November 10 with a domestic revenue of $46 million USD, marking the worst debut in MCU history. From the beginning, the film faced challenges, experiencing the largest second-weekend drop in the series. Helmed by Nia DaCosta, the movie features Brie Larson as Captain Marvel, Teyonah Parris as Monica Rambeau, and Iman Vellani as Ms. Marvel. Notably, it is the first Marvel film to fall short of the $100 million USD mark. Explaining the underwhelming performance, Disney CEO Bob Iger acknowledged, "The Marvels' was shot during COVID. There wasn't as much supervision on the set, so to speak, where we have executives [that are] really looking over what's being done day after day after day." He also emphasized the need for a more realistic outlook, recognizing the previously set high standard of a billion dollars in global box office as unsustainable.

Trivia

"The Marvels" explores this legacy, showcasing the interconnectedness of different characters who have carried the Captain Marvel title.

  • Nia DaCosta's Influence: The film director Nia DaCosta, known for her work on "Candyman" and "Little Woods," directed "The Marvels." DaCosta's unique storytelling style and visual flair bring a fresh perspective to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, making "The Marvels" stand out as a film that merges superhero action with innovative filmmaking.

  • Brie Larson's Return: Brie Larson reprises her role as Carol Danvers, aka Captain Marvel, in "The Marvels." This film continues Carol's journey in the MCU after her debut in "Captain Marvel." Larson's portrayal of the character has been praised for its strength and complexity, contributing to the broader narrative of female empowerment within the superhero genre.

  • Exploration of Multiverse: "The Marvels" delves into the concept of the multiverse, a theme that has become increasingly prominent in Marvel Comics. The multiverse opens up possibilities for encountering alternate versions of well-known characters and exploring different realities. This narrative element adds layers of complexity and excitement to the overarching Marvel storytelling.

Deadpool 3 - Fox-Marvel Legacy

In the midst of the excitement surrounding Deadpool and Wolverine's official introduction to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, director Shawn Levy is hinting at the possibility of more X-Men characters making their appearance in the film. Discussing Marvel Studios' first-ever R-rated release, Levy mentioned that the movie will delve into the "Fox-Marvel Legacy," acknowledging the era of Marvel-based movies under 20th Century Fox and their influence on the MCU. "

Fox-Marvel Legacy

Deadpool and Wolverine are iconic Marvel characters, more specifically, iconic Marvel characters from the Fox era," the filmmaker shared in an interview with Total Film. "We won't ignore the fact that the Fox legacy exists; it played a significant role in shaping what we now recognize as the MCU. Fox also played a pivotal role in the careers of Ryan, Hugh, and mine. So, there's a rich history there, and Marvel's history at Fox is certainly a part of our storytelling." While Jennifer Garner's Elektra has been confirmed, speculations for Deadpool 3 include the possibility of characters from the upcoming Fantastic Four film and Channing Tatum portraying Gambit. Deadpool 3 is now officially slated for release on September 6, 2024.

The first-day earnings reportedly include $17.5 million USD from Thursday previews. Projections suggest that the film will make somewhere between $110 million USD to $120 million USD during its opening weekend. If these predictions are accurate, the movie will have the second-highest opening of 2023, following The Super Mario Bros. Movie's $146 million USD opening weekend, which also stars Guardians of the Galaxy's Chris Pratt. However, it will still be approximately $20 million USD lower than Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2's opening weekend earnings in 2023. Aquaman and The Lost Kingdom Plot And Release Date

Ahead of the release of DC's Black Adam Deadline has announced another release date shakeup at Warner Brothers has pushed the release date for the Aquaman sequel, Aquaman and The Lost Kingdom to Christmas 2023. The film had previously been set for March 17, 2023, after having been pushed back from December 21, 2022. Shazam: Fury of The Gods is now set to take the March release date after having earlier been set to arrive on Aquaman 2's initial December 2022 date. Almost every studio has experienced delays, especially for VFX-heavy projects like sci-fi and superhero films. Franchise villain Patrick Wilson spoke about Aquaman and The Lost Kingdom’s never-before-seen VFX techniques in an interview with Collider in February.

The first film saw Jason Momoa take up the mantle of the titular hero as Arthur Curry as he learned of his true lineage as the king of Atlantis. His ascent to the throne was a troubled one as he had to fend off both an ill-intentioned half-brother who saw the throne as his own and a highly skilled pirate turned supervillain seeking revenge for his father's death. Aquaman also recently appeared at the end of the Season 1 finale of James Gunn’s Peacemaker series along with the other members of the Justice League. With Black Adam introducing the Justice Society an alternate version of the Justice League it remains to be seen how the upcoming films will play off each other. In the comics, Black Adam and Shazam!'s Billy Baston are known enemies, so we could see the Justice Society and the Justice League going head-to-head in the future of the DCEU. In addition to Momoa and Wilson, Aquaman and The Lost Kingdom stars Amber Heard, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Temuera Morrison, and Dolph Lundgren. Horror master and Aquaman director James Wan is back to helm the sequel from a script penned by David Leslie Johnson McGoldrick. The duo worked on last year’s The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It, along with franchise stars Wilson and Vera Farmiga. Filming wrapped on Aquaman and The Lost Kingdom back in January, but with the new release date, there's no word yet on when we'll see a trailer for the upcoming sequel. The costumes from Aquaman 2 were recently featured at licensing con; you can get a detailed look at Aquaman and Black Manta’s looks in the upcoming film. Aquaman and The Lost Kingdom is now set to hit theaters on December 25, 2023.

Gran Turismo Movie Plot Revealed

Ordóñez went on to reach the podium with Nissan in the European GT4 Cup campaign, score two victories and finish the season as a runner-up in the championship. The Gran Turismo film currently in early development from Sony PlayStation Productions will be directed by District 9 and Elysium’s Neill Blomkamp. Look for the Hollywood adaptation to be released August 11, 2023.

Sharing DNA with such properties as The Bourne Identity and John Wick, The Gray Man follows a former CIA hitman fighting for his life after being betrayed by the country he loved. Netflix is going all-in on this project - it’s one of the most expensive Netflix Originals to date, pulling in Hollywood superstars Ryan Gosling and Chris Evans to play the leading roles and filming on set in France and the Czech Republic as well as undisclosed Stateside locations. Reportedly, a prequel and sequel are already in development. Expect high-octane thrills, international intrigue, and masterful performances by some of the best actors in the business. If that sounds like it's right up your alley, here are all the details we have so far for this exciting Netflix thriller movie. Netflix released the first official trailer for The Gray Man on May 24, giving fans a good look at all the large-scale action set-pieces the action-adventure spy film has in store for fans of the genre. For fighting with fists, explosive car chases, Ana de Armas, and of course Ryan Gosling and Chris Evans duking it out while brandishing some great facial hair.

The Gray Man will naturally be a Netflix exclusive on streaming, but it will also be released in theaters on Friday, July 15, 2022. If you’d like the full theater experience for The Gray Man, though, you’ll have to act quickly - it will only be in theaters for a week, after which the film will become available for streaming on July 22. The Gray Man follows Court Gentry, codename Sierra Six, who was once a CIA operative specializing in infiltration and assassination. After an unspecified betrayal lands him in prison, Gentry escapes and begins a new life as an assassin for hire, building a fearsome reputation in the process. However, his old colleagues at the CIA aren’t about to let him go. After uncovering some incriminating evidence against the agency, Gentry becomes the target of Lloyd Hansen, another of the CIA’s top intelligence agents and a man of even fewer scruples than Gentry. The result is a violent manhunt across several countries, with Gentry having only his wit, skill, and resourcefulness to rely on to escape Hansen, every bounty hunter and killer-for-hire on the continent, and the might of the entire United States global intelligence network. The Gray Man is being directed by Anthony and Joseph Russo, collectively known as the Russo Brothers. They’re no strangers to stylish action, having directed four films for the Marvel Cinematic Universe including Captain America: Civil War and Avengers: Endgame, the latter of which broke box-office records its opening week and remains a high-water mark for massive multi-continuity movie franchises to this day.

Joseph Russo is also one of the screenwriters for this project, along with Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely. Markus and McFeely are also a mainstay duo in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, much like the Russo brothers themselves: all four have previously worked together on Marvel projects, and Markus and McFeely have also written for The Chronicles of Narnia series of films. Ryan Gosling stars as the titular Gray Man, a.k.a. Court Gentry, freelance assassin, and international fugitive. Gosling is perhaps best known for his starring role in the romantic musical La La Land, but he’s earned his acting chops in Drive and Blade Runner 2049. In hot pursuit is Chris Evans as Lloyd Hansen, his unhinged former colleague. Evans is of course best known for his work as Steve Rogers in the Marvel Cinematic Universe from Captain America: The First Avenger through to Avengers: Endgame, in which he also worked under the direction of the Russo brothers. He’s also directed and starred in the romantic drama Before We Go and proved his talent as a villain in Knives Out. Joining the two men is Ana de Armas, who starred alongside Evans in Knives Out and Gosling in Blade Runner 2049. She’s also joined the ranks of Bond girls in No Time to Die. De Armas plays Agent Dani Miranda, who works alongside Hansen to track down Gentry. They’re opposed not only by Gentry but by former handler Donald Fitzroy, played by Billy Bob Thornton. Thornton is a veteran actor whose filmography includes Armageddon, The Man Who Wasn’t There, and Fargo. Other cast members appearing in the movie include Regé-Jean Page, Jessica Henwick, Dhanush, Alfre Woodard, Wagner Moura, Julia Butters, Callan Mulvey, Eme Ikwuakor, Scott Haze, Michael Gandolfini, Sam Lerner, Robert Kazinsky, and DeObia Oparei. Netflix is currently developing both a prequel and a sequel for The Gray Man. A sequel makes sense - The Gray Man appears to be based on the first book in a six-book series, so there’s plenty of material yet to adapt - but the prequel, intriguingly, will be focusing on the story behind antagonist Lloyd Hansen. It seems Netflix’s ambition for this film reaches far beyond its mind-boggling budget and star-studded cast: they fully expect to make The Gray Man into a franchise. If the movie is as good as its director and cast would suggest, it just might succeed. The Gray Man started filming in March 2021, and wrapped up on July 22 of the same year. Locations included the Château de Chantilly in France and Prague, Czech Republic.

Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness Teaser Welcomes The Illuminati

After screening the first 20 minutes of the film at CinemaCon 2022, Marvel on Friday dropped off a new teaser for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. Alongside Benedict Cumberbatch’s Dr. Stephen Strange, the new teaser reveals that America Chavez (Xochitl Gomez) and Wanda Maximoff’s Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen) will play a role in the film’s storyline, which will see Dr. Strange and his team combat an emerging threat after opening a portal to the multiverse.

The preview does not explain Dr. Strange’s role in the multiverse or what has happened to it, though it does confirm that he will meet the MCU’s Illuminati. For context, in Marvel’s comics, the Illuminati represents a hidden superhero society that pulls from various types of characters, including the Avengers, Wakanda, Atlantis, mutants and more. The film, directed by Sam Raimi, will also star Chiwetel Ejiofor as Karl Mordo, Benedict Wong as Wong, with Michael Stuhlbarg as Nicodemus West and Rachel McAdams as Christine Palmer. The movie was first reported to run for two and a half hours, but it has since been confirmed that the official runtime is two hours and six minutes. Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness premieres in theaters on May 6. Watch the latest teaser above.

Witches and Wizards Team Up In Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness

With little more than two weeks before the premiere of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, Marvel Studios keeps releasing new teasers for fans hungry for new frames to dissect in search of clues about the Multiverse. The latest teaser for the highly-anticipated sequel focus on the alliance formed by Stephen Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) and Wanda Maximoff (Elizabeth Olsen), as the two former Avengers get ready to save every possible dimension. The new teaser opens with Stephen underlining how the Multiverse is dangerous. Unfortunately, that never prevented the Master of Mystic Arts from messing around with multiple dimensions, which will lead to time-space breaking down in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

That’s why Stephen decides to enlist the help of Wanda, who goes by the moniker Scarlet Witch after the events of WandaVision. The new teaser features plenty of psychedelic images to illustrate how things can get crazy inside the Multiverse. However, a few frames might hide some of the sequel’s secrets. For instance, we see Stephen looking appalled at a brilliant mystic book. Since WandaVision introduced the Darkhold, a powerful piece of literature, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness could be adding new magical artifacts to the MCU. The new teaser also has a scene where Wanda is trapped in what seems to be the mirror dimension. That could mean she’s under attack by Karl Mordo (Chiwetel Ejiofor), who’s still determined to free the world from wizards. It could also be a nod to the possible conflict between Stephen and Wanda, as previous trailers and posters suggested that the Scarlet Witch might be a villain in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. To prevent the whole reality from collapsing, Stephen will have to find some powerful reinforcements in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. Besides counting on Wanda and his brother-in-arms Wong (Benedict Wong), the wizard will also find a new ally in Xochitl Gomez's America Chavez, a heroine capable of jumping through dimensions. All this backup might not be enough, though, as Stephen will need to deal with several menaces besides Mordo, including extradimensional squid monsters, zombies, and even an evil version of himself. Sam Raimi directs Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness from a script by Jade Bartlett and Michael Waldron. Raimi is also known for helming the Spider-Man trilogy starring Tobey Maguire as the Web-Slinger.

The Batman Deleted Scene Reveals The Joker

Well, there you have it folks: Our first good look at Barry Keoghan's Clown Prince of Crime — the Joker himself! After yet another insufferable series of riddles through the AR website rataalada.com, Warner Bros. has released the full deleted scene from Matt Reeves' "The Batman" featuring Robert Pattinson's Caped Crusader talking to Joker at Arkham Asylum. To get there, it's going to take some clever detective work worthy of Batman himself. You see, if you go to the Rata Alada, you'll be asked to play a sadistic game of riddles, with the order being randomized for each user. One of them goes "Once you've been set up, it hits you at the end. Straight on," the other "It's not a joke, but sometimes you need to shout it twice to really mean it," and lastly "To wit: a wild card in the truest sense."
You get endless guesses, with amusing responses when you get it wrong. If you really struggle with one riddle, the website gives you a chance to answer another, but you must answer all three to get the deleted scene. (The answers, if you really want to be spoiled, are, in order: Punchline, Ha, and Joker.) When you answer correctly, you get a link to the deleted scene, which you can watch in its entirety below.
This deleted scene has been a long time coming. Rumors spread a while back that Barry Keoghan had been cast in a secret role for "The Batman," which many thought to be Joker. Adding fuel to the fire, Warner Bros. reportedly test screened the film both with and without him in it. Then, when the final film was released and audiences got a very brief and obfuscated look at the new Mr. J, director Matt Reeves confirmed that he did shoot an extended scene featuring Batman and Joker that played sort of like "The Silence of The Lambs." Indeed, the scene is just like any other scene where a detective visits an imprisoned psychopath and uses him to find the new killer. What's intriguing is the palpable sense of history between the two new iterations of the characters, despite their short time together on screen. Then there is the new look of the Joker. Keoghan's take on the character is far from the elegant Joker played by Jack Nicholson, or the man with the facial scars played by Heath Ledger, or even Jared Leto's gangster with face tattoos. Instead, this Joker looks like he just got out of the vat of acid, with a deformed face that Matt Reeves says is inspired by the original source of inspiration for the Joker: The 1928 film "The Man Who Laughs," about a man disfigured as a child to have a perpetual grin. According to Reeves, it is not guaranteed that we will see this Joker in a potential sequel to "The Batman," but you can still delight yourself by the extended scene above.

Shazam! Fury of the Gods Release Date

DC Comics and Warner Brothers’ 2022 film slate was completely destroyed today and while it will definitely leave a lot of DC fans depressed, Shazam is here to save the day as it is the only film that has moved up its release date. The highly anticipated sequel Shazam! Fury of the Gods will now premiere on December 12, 2022, rather than its previous June 2023 date. That is a whole six-month jump and, while we still do not know much about the sequel so far, this should at least give fans confidence that WB has something really special on their hands with this Shazam family film. “We’re thrilled to bring ‘Shazam! Fury of the Gods’ to audiences as a Christmas gift this year,” WB President of domestic distribution Jeff Goldstein said about the new release date and continued on saying, “Families of all ages will really enjoy it.” When talking with our own Steven Weintraub late last year, Shazam himself Zachary Levi praised the upcoming sequel and actually wanted the film to come out sooner saying:

"I will say that I genuinely and this is not just lip service I'm really proud of the first one, I think we made a really, really good movie. I think the second one is better. I think that we had more time, we had more budget. We had, essentially, the entire cast returning, and we all knew our characters a little bit more; we could kind of sit into them a little bit more. Henry Gayden, who wrote the first script, wrote the second, and he did a fantastic job doing so. Everything just clicked even a little bit more and a little bit more. And also the kids have grown up a little bit more, so even the sensibilities of them become even slightly more mature which brings it closer to my or other people's adult minds, so there's even more connection there, I think. The action's great, the comedy's great, the relationships are great. The bad guys, Helen Mirren and Lucy Liu, are fantastic. I'm very proud of it. I want it to come out sooner than June of 2023." Thankfully, Levi’s wish finally came true. Also, while every star in a sequel says it is better than the first, it is great to hear Levi talk so enthusiastically about the film. Especially given how good and fun the first film was when it was released in 2019. The short behind-the-scenes sizzle reel for the sequel that was released at last year’s DC FanDome teased a much bigger picture that hops between the real world and the Realm of the Gods. Besides Levi, Asher Angel is returning as Shazam’s human counterpart Billy Batson along with Jack Dylan Grazer as Billy’s best friend Freddy with his superhero counterpart played by Adam Goldberg. Djimon Honsou is also returning as the other Shazam who gave Billy his powers in the first film. The villains this time around are Helen Mirren and Lucy Liu as the daughters of Atlas, Hespera and Kalypso. Also, West Side Story’s Rachel Zegler is a new addition to the cast in an unknown role, but is suspected to be a love interest for Billy Batson in the film. Since we are now only nine months away from Shazam 2’s release, a new poster or trailer should be right around the corner. The December date worked like magic for Aquaman, and hopefully it will do the same for our favorite DC family when Shazam! Fury of the Gods releases in theaters on December 12, 2022.

Original Wonder Woman Lynda Carter Returns For DC's Wonder Woman 3

The original Wonder Woman Lynda Carter will be part of DC Universe's third installment of the film, Wonder Woman. Director Patty Jenkins teamed up with the TV's original Amazonian princess for the virtual event of DC FanDome 2021 and confirming that Carter will reprise her role as the warrior Asteria, her cameo in the film, Wonder Woman 1984. Actress Gal Gadot, who wasn't able to attend the virtual event, is super excited to start filming Wonder Woman 3. "Gal, who's so bummed not to be here, who's the busiest person in the world, with now three little kids and shooting, so she was so bummed not to be able to be here. But we are all three very excited about some exciting things coming up with Wonder Woman 3,” says Jenkin to PEOPLE.

The 70-year old Carter, who starred as in the Wonder Woman TV series from 1976 to 1979, explained her personal commitment to the franchise. "I know what it was like from the inside out. I know what the legacy meant to me, and when I created the character, it wasn't on the comic book page her kindness and her goodness. Her strength was her Lasso of Truth ... and that meant something to me. "Who would have thought in my life at this time in my life that this gift would just present itself to me, and that's so cool. And that's what I'm hoping for all of the fans of Wonder Woman ... to know that your life is full of surprises, and the Wonder Woman in you is alive and well." Just days after Wonder Woman 1984 was released on Christmas Day, Warner Bros. announced that development on the third film was being fast-tracked. "As fans around the world continue to embrace Diana Prince, driving the strong opening weekend performance of Wonder Woman 1984, we are excited to be able to continue her story with our real life Wonder Women Gal and Patty who will return to conclude the long-planned theatrical trilogy," says Warner Bros. chief Toby Emmerich. Wonder Woman 1984 which also stars Chris Pine, Kristen Wiig, Pedro Pascal, Robin Wright and Connie Nielsen was originally set to debut in theaters in summer 2020 before the coronavirus pandemic forced Warner Bros. to delay its release. Ahead of WW84's premiere, Jenkins revealed on Good Morning America that she has an ongoing text chain with Gadot and Carter. "Lynda is one of the first people I contacted when I started doing these movies, and she and I have become super good friends. "In the last few years we've started a group text that we're all three on, literally we all talked probably four times yesterday. So we text each other all the time, we talk about what's going on, we talk about the movie release. "We have a very shared spirit which is so awesome to share, and such an honor to share with her." Before her cameo appearance in Wonder Woman 1984, Lynda Carter was last seen in the films Super Trooper 2, Sky High, and The Dukes of Hazzard.
