That was a ton of fun to read. Wow. Oda was not lying when he said there's nothing but great stuff left. Also, I had rayleigh as my favorite character years ago as an old man. This flashback of his youth has cemented that. Interesting. Shanks and shamrock were born on god valley. Presumably garling sired during his earlier mission there. Given how cheerfully the people talk about the father, I assume it was consensual too. I don't think so. I think it's highly likely that garling took one of the boys and gave him his name. 

 

Shamrock may not know he's not garling's son. Shanks's mother may be from alabasta with d lineage as well. I think garling knows of the kids and hence wants hunting to happen after 2 years once the kids are born and a bit older enough to survive without a mother. Seeing everyone fit inside shakky's bar having a good time together makes me wonder how tf big mom, whitebeard, and kaido got so god damn big when people like rayleigh and gaban stayed relatively normal sized. It's funny that rocks is so disgusted by harald's cowardice and then his son grows up to be the biggest coward in all of one piece. In general there's an interesting theme of blackbeard putting rocks on a pedestal while being almost his polar opposite which feels somehow very real. We'll see what happens at god valley. Maybe blackbeard resents rocks for his bravery, because it got him killed and wasn't there to build up blackbeard as a kid.
