I love following the straw hats but I think I'd enjoy reading a slice of life pirates series following pre-pirate king roger. I need a whole arc of roger trying to hook rayleigh up with shakky.
One piece can make so many fun spin-offs with how many characters they have. We could have a workplace comedy about the cross guild, romcom with rayleigh and shakky, cheers-like show except at shakky's bar, whatever koby does(we could actually see the rocky port incident rather than having it explained in the sbs), etc.
The world is too rich that almost everyone could have their own little arc.
You know, I always thought people overestimate how interesting the adventure of randos or that of people who are story device for the strawhat's benefits (like roger's pirates) would be, but after we got fan letter, if they could do stories of this quality that'd be amazing. Doesn't need the animation to be as good as fan letter but with someone invested and inspired writing it, they could make something. I really need to see roger do something certifiably insane and creative just to set his boy up with shakky. Like destroying a whole port so they are stranded together or something like that.
