Maybe that's why elbaph is suffering. It's born from harold's suicidal and foolish version of peace and coexistence. It's also why when the god's knights invaded elbaph, the giants cannot muster any defense against them and had their children forcefully taken away because they think peace=weak when it's the very opposite. I’m not gonna lie, I’m really tyin to see blackbeards mom now. I’m getting the feeling that she is either an ambitious, beautiful woman that is very loving and caring, wants the best for bb and rocks and has ancient knowledge that attracted rocks to her or she like an amazon lilly -2, super manipulative, has ties to something ancient weapons, imu’s weakness etc. 

 

That rocks needs to “take over the world” and is giving him a baby as part of the plan. Wait, shanks and shamrock's mom is from god valley?! I don't know, I always thought shanks was just brought there. Damn garling, you knocked her we'll absolutely learn whoi she is up and murked her people? Cold-blooded. It seem that roger and rocks encounter more than few time and they either fight or have some verbal banter. It doesn't seem will happen with luffy and blackbeard as it seem if they clash it would be a total all out fight end game. While rocks failed to persuade harald to join his crew, luffy will probably succeed. Im just wondering now whether loki is stronger or weaker than his father tho.

Usually it’s popular guys like roger that win the “baddie’s” attention, but here she likes the chill guy 2nd in command. She was also 2nd in command on her ship. This entire time I’ve been wondering if this backstory is based on events from oda’s real life. Seeing them all hang out in the bar like that reminds me of the band from berserk and how they were based on the author’s friend group. These interactions and dynamics seem very real. The thing garling has found is uranus. 

 

They uncovered it during the god valley hunt, and then fired it to destroy the island. It was the last drop of fuel left, so they couldn't use it anymore until the present day. Harald fighting rocks was some of the saddest shit for me. It was like usopp v. Luffy. Rocks was even calling harald out on being a sellout for the wg. But it seems like harald knows a lot about giant history and has deeper motivations for doing what he’s doing. Just tragic. You heard it here first.

I see people commenting on the 3 minute deadline, however we must remember we are seeing a flashback of a flashback, it started with loki and jarul seeing harald being killed, then it started another flashback. I loved seeing these old figures hanging out together like that in their youth. There's a certain charm to that. Also, I love the little callback of whitebeard never paying off his meals and always giving his notes to someone else. He's always broke because he sent all the money to sphynx island. Not only rocks is a loyal friend but he also seemed to love hid wife and his kid, nag I am sold. I am a certified rocks fan now. Harald made a good point about the celestial dragons controlling public opinion but I don't know if it's the right approach or not. Everything isn't all black and white. What evil shit is garling planning. Seriously this man is vile. 

 

He made twins with a local of an island where he spent quite some time and still decided to come back and kill everyone there. Who wanna bet rocks went and tried to destroy the nobles in revenge for harald being shackled and manipulated, got killed, and then harald went against the world government in revenge for rocksand got capped because of that. I'm surprised by how likeable rock's character has been so far. Super dissappointed in harald still wanting to ally with the world government. I wonder how much do the elbaf giants really know about the void century and the time before, it seems like even they don't know their history cause it harald did, there's no way he would want to ever align with them.

I missed it but neither roger nor rocks were talking about the one piece or raftel at all at this point right? They are pretty occupied with doing pirate-y stuff. I don´t think skanks and sham will be the reason for the god valley hunt. My best guess is that garland, while being there, found out that the people of god valley had important knowledge about ancient history and about something important hidden on a secluded island. Would be very fitting to connect sungod nika to god valley. During the god valley incident all those bigshot pirates will not only learn about the true cruelty of the government but also about this hidden island and that the wg fears that anyone could get there. 

 

In god valley we might witness the moment where some thugs with ships change their goal from hunting mundane treasures to toppling an evil regime instead. For them it becomes the new biggest treasure hunt possible. Laugh tale and the one piece didn't exist in anyone's mind at this time. A year after this scene with rocks, roger becomes the first known person to reach lodestar island and realizes there is a hidden island beyond it that can only be found with the road poneglyphs. The one piece is just what the world named everything that roger had gained. Rocks and roger interacting wasn't on my prediction for this flashback, but it's great to see their differences. Harald made his choice against rocks, but I wonder how big his role will be in the nearby god valley incident.

I think one of the reasons I kinda enjoy watching this generation of pirates is because they feel more a bit more human. Roger, rayleigh and rocks aren't totally ignorant to love or aren't totally braindead while luffy, zoro and blackbeard have less nuance. Though I guess luffy takes after garp rather than roger. Wait, so shanks and shamrock's mother isn't a celestial dragon? That means garling offered god valley as a location for their native hunt as a giant elaborate ruse to kill his half-breed kids. 

 

Which means that it wasn't him who shoved shanks into the chest that roger found. We speculate that moria changed his name from kozuki to gecko by swapping the kanji, but what if it's the other way around and the people of wano made him an honorary kozuki? Gecko moria is born in the west blue and early in his life moves to wano, where he lives in ringo. At some point he leaves and is at roger's execution. A year later he returns to wano and fights kaido, but he loses. He fakes his death, takes ryuma and leaves wano for good, after which he eventually ends up back in the west blue where he "Builds" thriller bark. The people of ringo are convinced he died and honor him by turning gecko into kozuki. Since wano is cut off from the outside world, they never learn that moria is still alive.

Roger making sure his pal gets to a date with the woman everyone wants (including him) is actually so wholesome. Roger and rocks's dynamic looks really fun too, I'm glad to see it's more akin to luffy and kid than actual enemies. It's cool seeing the two groups hanging out, although it seems they're not as friendly on the sea. And did I read this correctly? Are shanks and shamrock not cd by birth? Garling will never beat the allegations. Edit: also I gotta say, I know people are really on board the "Rocks put his soul into his son" theory but with every new chapter, rocks looks less and less like the type of character that would do something like that. 

 

About something happened in the cover story after years of it. Moria being considered a hero in wano was not in my bingo card. Moria is gonna get a crocodile style power boost and join cross guild. I can feel it. This chapter answers the question of why did it take roger so long to find the one piece (at least compared to luffy's progress so far). Dude spent years chasing shakky around the seas. I wasn't expecting this flashback about the old legends to be so romantic. Roger and rayleigh's conversation is straight out of shoujo manga. Even rocks is grinning like a schoolboy because he hooked up with his crush. Garling, on the other hand, might have caused the god valley incident to hide his affair with a pretty commoner redhead. God valley refusing an invite into the wg is big news and also ironic considering all harald's been doing. Not many places we know that would just refuse and the ones we know had a connection to a certain great kingdom. Did garling find a poneglyph? It's a safe choice, but imu isn't a big fan of the poneglyphs, so maybe not. Knowing imu, it's probably a girl who really looks like lily. Finally, it's time for shank's flashback, let's go!

I wonder what exactly caused harald to snap off his horns and how rocks’ death will come in the end. Elbaph didn’t join the world government because of something st. Sommers considers he messed up. Presumably with what we know from the ongoing backstory, it’s that he wasn’t able to kill rocks. This chapter says they will still meet again though, will it be at god valley? Or will it this “incident” take place somewhere else? 

 

Seems somewhat odd to me that the king of elbaf, staunchly opposed to the random suffering of living creatures inflicted by the world government, shows up to god valley during the human hunt and sides with the government. Harald was executed by his own guards, I don’t think that’s just because he didn’t kill rocks, it’s because of this certain incident. I doubt that we’re going to see the god valley incident next chapter. We’re probably going to skip it and some other person will reveal what happened. I’m very certain that what garling found was either the road poneglyph that big mom now has, or joy boy’s corpse along with his hat. For shanks’ mother, I’m leaning towards her being a kind soul unlike other celestial dragons and that she was the one who put baby shanks in the chest that roger found to prevent her son from growing up to be a monster like his father, but she could only save one of her sons. Then I bet garling figured out what she did and had her executed.

I'm curious if the child of destiny thing has to do with a prophecy of a person with red hair and one arm. Then I wonder if the prophecy has something to do with huge sacrifice, like martyring oneself to stop a great evil. Then, shanks cried when roger told him this, and dedicated his life to eventually fulfilling the prophecy, discarding his dream of becoming the pirate king. And his arm, at the time that he thought was right. The kicker though? The other character that fits the description of a red-haired man with one arm is not shamrock, but kidd. He's just gotten curbstomped right now, which is the perfect time for some major character development. 

 

Maybe he could eventually grow to make whatever sacrifice it is, fulfilling the prophecy maybe unintentionally. Roger was wrong about the person who would ultimately inherit his will (luffy not ace), maybe he was wrong a second time? There's still probably some pieces I'm missing here, like why roger would pin shanks as the person of the prophecy while he still had two arms, but I think that's dependent on whatever the mark on his left arm is supposed to be. I’ve always thought the idea that garp and roger teamed up to take down rocks at god valley is just the world government’s spin on the truth. I’m sure a lot of things happened that day that we are eventually going to find out but I don’t think it was as straightforward as that, especially knowing how oda likes to twist his stories.

I know people are going on about how long this flashback is taking but I'm really invested in rocks and haralds friendship. That seems to be the central thread in all of this and it would be interesting if it lead to both of their downfalls. It really feels like rocks isn't a bad guy. Almost positive he's going to get reversed by imu and ends up being tag teamed by roger and garp. Dude solely attacks corruption and the world government.

 

What is haralds blunder?! Is it discovering the existence of imu, realizing that rocks was right and making it so that giants wouldn't join up so freely with the government? Elbaf remains closed, so looks like you may be right. He eventually realised the intentions of wg. It is said that they do meet again. Hopefully we will come to know next chapter. Now it makes sense that shanks was born in god valley, it seems that garling married a noblewoman from the island with an interest in taking the island for the world government one way or another. Could both shamrock and shanks be the destined child gaban mentioned a few chapters ago, and that's what interested garling in god valley? The island's royal family's lineage may be linked to something important from the void century, like the ancestral weapon uranus.

There’s so much going on right now I can’t comprehend where to even begin. First off I love the banter and the dynamic of the rocks pirates. They all seem like such a fun bunch. Is there more to shanks than just being a celestial? I wonder if the mom’s lineage is of any importance. Uranus is on god valley isn’t it? That’s what garling is implying I think. Rocks met the woman he's gonna have teach with. I'm assuming she uh is pregnant already. I'm thinking that because of what big mom says.

 

A woman's intuition is how shakky guessed boa would fall for luffy. And she is totally right. Big mom is acknowledging shakky's call, probably because she herself had just been bugging rocks about it. Harald is really awesome, he fought on equal terms with rocks, the strongest guy in that era, but I don't think either of them actually tried to kill the other in that fight. If he had joined the rocks pirates, god valley would have ended very differently. The more we see of rocks the more I like him. Him and blackbeard are similar but so different at the same time. Wasn’t this dude supposed to be evil? Can’t trust the fake news world government media.
