Elbaf has been hyped as a land of monstrously strong warriors, and having Sanji go toe-to-toe with a giant specializing in MMA is a perfect way to showcase his post-Wano physical durability and Ifrit Jambe. It’s a great palate cleanser of pure action before the chapter dives into the heavy story elements.  Catch the latest one piece manga 1183, check this blog regularly for the updates of one piece - chapter 1183: in Full Color & Ch 1183 100 out of 100 based on 5 ratings.

The fact that Loki (or Ragnir) is actively fighting Imu is staggering. It implies the Elbaf conflict is escalating straight into the endgame against the World Government.

  • Nidhogg & Norse Mythology: Imu mentioning "Nidhogg" alongside Nika is brilliant. In Norse mythology, Níðhöggr is a dragon who gnaws at the roots of the World Tree (Yggdrasil). Since Elbaf is heavily inspired by Norse myth, Nidhogg could be an Ancient Weapon, a key figure from the Void Century, or perhaps a codename for Monkey D. Dragon himself.

  • Who is Dozan? Imu stating that Nika and Nidhogg will die "just like Dozan" (ドウザン) introduces a massive new mystery. Dozan sounds like a historical figure from the Void Century perhaps an ally of the original Joyboy, a former user of a powerful Devil Fruit, or a rebel who nearly toppled the Twenty Kings.

The Brook Flashback: A Decades-Long Mystery Solved

This is the absolute heart of the chapter. Brook was introduced in the Thriller Bark arc way back in 2007, and Oda has meticulously kept his human eyes hidden behind those round glasses for almost two decades of real-world time.

  • Esperia Kingdom & Queen Candel: We finally get to see Brook at 20 years old as a battle convoy leader. It adds a fascinating layer of royalty and duty to his past. He wasn't just a wandering musician; he was a respected, high-ranking military leader serving Queen Candel and 7-year-old Princess Shuri.

  • The Emotional Weight: Knowing Brook's character, this flashback is likely going to break our hearts. We know he eventually leaves this life to join the Rumbar Pirates. Was Esperia Kingdom destroyed? Did he fail to protect Queen Candel or Princess Shuri, prompting him to take up music and piracy to cope with the loss? Furthermore, Usopp asking Brook why he went to fight "Gunko" in the present day suggests a direct thematic (or literal) connection between this new enemy and Brook's deeply buried past.

  • The Design Reveal: Seeing a fresh-faced Brook without his iconic head scar and glasses is going to be a surreal, monumental moment for the fandom.

The Verdict: With epic fights, Void Century lore, and the highly anticipated backstory of our favorite skeleton musician capped off with the blessing of No Break Next Week this chapter looks like a 10/10.

Skull Joke! Brook Trivia

To celebrate the Soul King finally getting his flashback, here are some fun facts about our favorite musician:

  • He’s the Oldest Straw Hat: At 90 years old post-timeskip, Brook is by far the oldest member of the crew. In fact, he was a pirate before Gol D. Roger even started his legendary journey!

  • Oda Planned Him from the Start: Eiichiro Oda actually sketched a concept of a skeleton musician joining the crew way back in 2000, around the time the Straw Hats entered the Grand Line. He had to wait seven years to finally introduce him in Thriller Bark.

  • His Bounty Poster is Unique: Brook is the only Straw Hat whose current wanted poster isn't a traditional Marine photograph. Instead, the Marines simply used one of his "Soul King" concert tour posters.

  • The Yomi Yomi no Mi Loophole: Brook’s Devil Fruit, the Revive-Revive Fruit, basically did absolutely nothing for him while he was alive. It only activated upon his death. Unfortunately, because his soul got lost in the Florian Triangle fog, it took him a year to find his body, which is why he was reduced to a skeleton!

  • He Can Run on Water: Because he is quite literally just skin and bones (well, just bones), Brook is incredibly light. This allows him to run across the surface of the water without sinking, temporarily bypassing the standard Devil Fruit water weakness as long as he keeps moving.

Dozan could be one of Joyboy’s allies as well. He seemed to have quite the crew between Emeth, Zunesha and Nidhogg.

Kinda feels underwhelming to go back in time for Brook now.

Won't surprise me if the Dozan is the God of war from Elbaph legends that fought against the Sun God with Ragnir. Can't really see the point in introducing a new character that can be anymore important than Nika/Joyboy. I'd imagine any new names we get are most likely other characters who were associated with Nika/Joyboy.

I wonder if brook can break the ice due to his chill of the underworld.... Though at this point this would only add to opposing forces.

Dozan for sure is one of the gods in Harley - we just need to know if it is eart or forest - then imu will be the one left - or maybe even another god from the pantheon

And now that explains WHY Emeth moved - Probably Emeth power supply works with ANY "Drums of .." of any Ally god they had - Dozam could be the last God that appeared in O.P 200 years ago - and maybe Imu is hunting across the history everyone of those gods heirs - i think that only D. Can fully awaken a God Power

I think there's a good chance that Brook might have been in a relatively unique position. Not necessarily to get on Imu's radar but... close enough. Brook was a royal guard of sorts, he got close to shuri who had some relation to tenryubito at the time and eventually ascended to become one. Then shuri, presumably while under imu's influence kills her father. Brook leaves. The influence remains but shuri still remembers brook. Even her evil persona wanted brook around. There's a good chance that stuff concerning brook could have been uniquely personal. There's also a chance imu didn't remember brook simply because brook is a skeleton.

Oda lost no credibility. All this god stuff and everything else is pure shonen antics plus not to mention he planted the seeds early on for much of the stuff that is going on now. What I do see is fans that are pissed off because the fanfic in their heads keep on not coming true because reality check, this is Oda's story, not anyone else's. He is staying pretty true to the work imo. Some things may not be consistent, sure but for the most part Oda hasn't lost his touch. Otherwise, he wouldn't be known also as Goda all this time.

I don't see any problem with Loki being able to withstand Imus attacks either. Because why in the world Oda would hype him up soo much if he wouldn't be able to make a stand against Imu? Loki was literally reason why Imu left Elbaf alone for 14 years because without knowing who or what killed Harald he was too scared to risk life of other Knights. So why is it weird that Loki is this strong if after his fathers death HIS SHEER EXISTANCE was sole reason WG stayed away from Elbaf despit fact they could come whenever thanks to the magic circle? It isn't, right? Because you don't suspend your entier plan to invade kingdom that have something you need for 14 years over unknown enemy that actually ISN'T any threat to you.

I know this is a spoilers preview but my complaint for this arc goes outside of those. Anybody else getting increasingly frustrated at the jarring pacing of the arc? Ever since chapter 1151, we’ve been teased with the Imu Luffy confrontation, then the flashback happened (excellent btw) and from chapters 1171-1182 we’ve been getting mini “climaxes”. Nidhogg reveal at the end of 1174, luffy going to gear 5 during those chapters and having a light confrontation with Imu-Gunko on 1178. Imu arrives next chapter but luffy runs out of energy, he is now almost back, but now we have Brook’s flashback. Of course the flashback could be short, or a teaser to the complete flashback, but still the pacing is too jarring for me right now.
