Brook saw the devil wings and horns on both shuri and luven yet never questioned it for the better part of a century and just assumed his close friend and actual child Shuri, who had never shown any indication of being murderous, was acting of her own volition and murdered her father For No Raisin
like, for most characters i wouldn't mind this so much but brook had literal decades by himself to, y'know, mull things over
I really do wonder if CD caused the problem purely to gain slaves. Considering how many countries already exist that aren't affiliated with WG and how easily they could just take those people why spend time and energy impoverishing an already existing one that is making you money just for slaves. My thought is it was either personal e.g. Candel refused a CD or something about the music in Esperia connected to Nika's rhythm or something and had to be gotten rid of by Imu.
