Sony Reveals Tekken 8 Release Dates

A new installment of the longrunning Tekken franchise is in the works at Bandai Namco. The news of Tekken 8 was unveiled during Sony’s State of Play showcase on Tuesday. The fighting video game series largely centers on the King of Iron Fist Tournament, in which players control competitors as they battle it out to win the major title. The last iteration, Tekken 7, arrived in 2015 and chronicled the events leading up to the ultimate fight between boss martial artist Heihachi Mishima and his son, Kazuya Mishima.
Tekken 7 was released on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. Seven years later, the forthcoming Tekken 8 will debut on the latest generation of consoles, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, as well as PC via Steam.
Sony’s trailer for Tekken 8 teases Mishima’s return, battling it out against his own son, Jin Kazama. The 3D animated video offers little in terms of storyline but gives a glimpse at the heated fist fight, which takes place in a fiery volcanic landscape. 'Diablo II: Resurrected' Open Beta Released Dates

Blizzard Entertainment has just released the official date for its Open Beta test. Planned for the Early Access weekend, gamers who pre-ordered Diablo II: Resurrected or the Diablo Prime Evil Collection for any of the consoles Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, and PlayStation 4 including PC will have early access to the game on August 13, 10:00 a.m. PDT.

Public Open Beta weekend will take place a week later on August 20, 10:00 a.m. PDT. All players will be able to join in on the action with cross-progression between platforms. Even though it’s the Open Beta, there’s still plenty of action for fans as, on top of the Barbarian, Amazon, and Sorceress classes, the Paladin and Druid will also be added to the mix of characters, and up to eight friends will be able to get in on the multiplayer action. While the Beta is capped to two acts, gamers can play around with a number of builds as there will be no level restrictions. Head over to the Blizzard page for additional info. Everything Joining PlayStation Plus in July 2021

A few massive titles will be joining the PlayStation Plus free-to-play roster for both PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 players in the month of July. On the PlayStation 4 front, three games will be made free for those subscribed to PlayStation Plus, spearheaded by the massively popular 2018 first-person shooter Call of Duty: Black Ops 4, which kickstarted the beloved franchise’s move into the battle royale scene with its Blackout game mode

Accompanying the shooter are two combat games: WWE 2K Battlegrounds for the wrestling fans and Virtua Fighter 5 Ultimate Showdown for those looking for a more conventional fighting game experience. As for those lucky enough to own a PlayStation 5, the month of July will see the addition of A Plague Tale: Innocence, an action-adventure horror survival game released by Asobo Studio and Focus Home Interactive in 2019. Its upgraded version for the next-gen console was only announced recently during this year’s E3, and a sequel titled A Plague Tale: Requiem is currently in development and scheduled for a 2022 release. All four games will arrive July 6 on the PlayStation Plus service. Elsewhere in gaming, KOEI Tecmo Games has released a new gameplay trailer for Dynasty Warriors 9 Empires.

PlayStation Finally Reveals Just How Big the PS5 Controller Is

We finally know how big the PS5 DualSense controller is. While PlayStation hasn't disclosed precise measurements, it has revealed, via The Game Awards host Geoff Keighley, the controller alongside the PS4 DualShock 4, giving PlayStation fans an indication of the controller's size. And it's big, at least compared to the DualShock 4, which is not only shorter, but considerably slimmer.

If you have an Xbox One controller, you'll know it matches up, in terms of size, very similarly to the DualShock 4. In other words, it looks like the PS5 DualSense has a similar size, thickness, and presumably weight as the Xbox One controller. And this is good news.

The PS4 controller is pretty great, but it's a bit small and light. For people with normal-sized hands, this isn't too big of a deal, but for people with larger hands, the PS4 controller can be a bit uncomfortable to use. It looks like the DualSense will remedy this issue.

While we have a pretty good sense of the controller's size and thickness, it's still unclear just how hefty it is. It's apparently a bit heavier than the PS4 controller, which hopefully means it will also feel a bit sturdier. The PS4 controller feels a bit flimsy sometimes, like it's always one hardcore Rocket League session away from breaking.

The Last of Us Part 2 Is 2020's Biggest Launch So Far, Second Biggest in Sony History

The Last of Us Part 2 is 2020's biggest launch in the United States so far, according to market research company, The NPD Group. Further, and according to the same source, the game is Sony's second-biggest launch in the United States ever. In other words, despite the controversy surrounding the game, despite the divide it caused, and despite the protests, it has seemingly been a massive success for PlayStation and Naughty Dog.

NPD doesn't go into specifics, but notes it had the biggest launch month of any game this year. And while 2020 has been largely light on big game releases, it has had a few, such as Animal Crossing: New Horizons and Final Fantasy VII Remake. Of course, with a new Call of Duty, Cyberpunk 2077, and some other heavy hitters coming this fall, the chance of The Last of Us Part 2 holding onto this achievement until December are slim, but for now, it's at the top. As for the Sony game it's behind, it's none other than Marvel's Spider-Man.

As for the month, right behind Naughty Dog's latest game was Call of Duty, Animal Crossing, GTA, and Mortal Kombat.

  • The Last of Us Part 2
  •  Call of Duty: Modern Warfare
  • Animal Crossing: New Horizons
  • Grand Theft Auto V
  • Mortal Kombat 11
  • Red Dead Redemption 2
  • Ring Fit Adventure
  • NBA 2K20
  • Mario Kart 8 Deluxe
  • Minecraft Dungeons
  • Super Smash Bros. Ultimate
  • Rainbow Six Siege
  • Minecraft
  • The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild
  • Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order
  • Borderlands 3
  • Need for Speed Heat
  • Persona 4 Golden
  • SpongeBob SquarePants: Battle for Bikini Bottom Rehydrated
  • Assassin’s Creed Odyssey

While The Last of Us Part 2 is the biggest launch of the year, it hasn't been enough to make it the best-selling game of the year. That honor still belongs to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare.

  • Call of Duty: Modern Warfare
  • Animal Crossing: New Horizons
  • The Last of Us Part 2
  • Final Fantasy VII Remake
  • Grand Theft Auto V
  • NBA 2K20
  • Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot
  • MLB The Show 20
  • Resident Evil 3 Remake
  • Madden NFL 20
The Last of Us Part 2 is available on the PS4 and the PS4 only.
