There could be many reasons for the name change: explorer before roger, changed name., wanted to share information about the grandline for the next age of pirates but knew using his actual name would have copies erased and covered up. It just feels strange that scopper seems to have a strong connection with elbaph, especially since he decided to live there for 20 years and even have a child. And yet this was the moment to bring back louis arnot after so many years.
I still say the funniest time line would have be for the shiki to be revealed as the guy in the hat. Then it is immediately revealed that scopper is on the island too, waiting for luffy, and they are both retired fishing buddies in present day. Technically the buccaneers wouldn’t really be colon’s “people” if he was born from scopper gabon, since he wouldn’t actually be born from the same lineage, since rippley and scopper gaban technically aren’t related to any buccaneers as we know of. An entirely separate lineage of human and giant created colon.

On another note, is this side story heading towards yamato having her own crew? I doubt whos who would be a good candidate but given page one's and ulti's newfound "victim" status it's not a huge stretch that they might follow yamato, even if yamato took out ulti before. I do wonder why whos who is doing this to page one and ulti though. I suppose the obvious "being an asshole" card is the most likely but this sort of thing tends to work better when there's a profit to be made.
I don't know how the Marines or other pirate crews would reach Elbaph though, it isn't exactly easy to getall they way up where Luffy and the others are. But I can certanily see some of the God Knights being beaten here, which is probably the start to the final fight againts the World Government and Mary Geoise (well, I guess the actual startalready happened when Luffy fought all the Elders on Egghead); and in all the commotion I can see Blackbeard somehowgain something from this, maybe attack at the last minute when nobody expects it, he does like to do that. The maybe everyone teams up against him.
