Candelle isnt royal blood though i'm pretty sure, and only became queen after. It would make sense if imu wanted to join the davey blood of leuven. But if he is gonna just erase the island anyways no explainable reason to go through this. Something about the timeline for that as presented seems of though. Candelle makes it clear she has a thing for someone she belives is out of her leauge but is okay just being near. That has to be reuven obviously. Yet the celestial dragons coming to the esperia and candelle becoming bedridden was seemingly before the marriage.
It almost seemed to me to suggest that what they did involved getting reuven on the throne and somehow forcing his hand in getting married to candelle. My guess would be shuri isn't reuvens but a celestial dragons but in order to cover he married candelle and claimed it was his child making it harder for the celestial dragons to just come and claiming the baby not realising the celestial dragons do not give a shit.
And it still raises the question where the fog/smog fits in because it can't be coincidence.
