Brook with awakening might be the one capable to revoke imu contract. I really like that but oddly enough choppers seems to be kinda doing that role, unless brook specifically can cancel the sea covenants. The way shuri talks and acts in this issue, kind of makes me wonder, is it possible the way shanks acted in mariejois wasn't him pretending but was actually the shallow seals influence? Shuri is saying almost exactly the things he was.
I'm pretty sure it was mentioned that the seal's influence is stronger the closer they are to imu, which he's shown to be there in this chapter in his blob form. Shanks being in Marie jois was close to imu as well. I know that. But it wasn't clear if it was a matter of imu actively controlling them or, now I'm wondering, passively changing their entire personality. In which case maybe shanks "Me and harald couldn't speak freely in the holy land" didn't mean he was worried about getting him cover blown but instead he literally couldn't speak freely. Shanks had a shallow covenant, while shuri has a deep deep sea one, since she doesnt age like the gorosei. Also shanks freed fisher tiger and let them escape. From what I gather imu has to be actively controlling them and I guess he didnt suspect shanks at the time. Also shuri presumably didn't have a covenant yet it was domi reversi, which is also similar to the way dorry and brogy talk when reffering to jarul.
