What if the reason blackbeard doesn't sleep is because every time he sleeps he gets nightmares of god valley?
He looks shell shocked and traumatized in the first page.
I really think he's the only person who waited out the entirety of god valley cleanup, scared to go out, developing something akin to schizophrenia preventing him from sleeping. There’s going to be a heart wrenching moment between him and rocks at the end, where rocks tells him that a man’s dream never dies.
It seems like the chapter is intentionally highlighting and juxtaposing the figarland brothers’ ability to sleep through everything with blackbeard being wide awake and shell-shocked by everything. In some ways don’t blame blackbeard for becoming a chronic insomniac.
This chapter was so fucking dark. That scene with sommers kicking a child off a tree down to his thorns and presumably killing his father too was just sick.
And that other celestial dragon killing that family of three. When was the last time things got this dark? Kuma's flashback?
