Davy clan has connections to the underworld and apparently we’re never shown any love. Makes me think of the kurozumi clan and orochi, along with that hag who eventually got her influence in him and kaido somehow being able to transform into shiki.
The “darkness” is about to reveal itself soon and take down everything with it. And it’s been waiting a long time. The problem with garp is that he's a great character who you want to root fo he's luffy's grandpa and he genuinely wants to do the right thing.
But I don't know how he can reconcile the fact that his actions are protecting the celestial dragons in their hunting humans for sport. Is there truly such a thing as an ethical marine?
Dragon is the only hero from the marines in this chapter, perhaps from the whole manga. The others are a bunch of hypocrites that either do nothing or only act if directly threatens someone know. Dragon did neither, he risked his lives as a teen to save people he didn't know.
