God valley has to many parallels to real life. This chapter hit hard.
Evil people who think their gods chosen people carrying out a genocide.
Oda is just so good at creating characters who draw out every ounce of
disgust we could muster. Fuck the celestial dragons with thirty dicks.
On the flip side, I'm glad dragon stocks are rising high.
Can't believe we're finally getting the full god's valley flashback. I'm
so freaking hyped. Just banger chapters, one after the other.
I didn't think it was possible for me to hate the celestial dragons even
more than I already do but somehow oda is still able to surprise me
with how utterly horrible and depraved they are.
Both father and son bloodied up celestials in their teenage it seems.
You guys think in the current war, there'a upcoming hunting game by
celestials since it is done every 3 years and god valley happeneded 39
years ago? In god valley, all the big pirates got together, same thing
can happen again with shanks, blackbeard and luffy on the same island.
Straight up a full chapter setting the tone and getting all the players
in place. In the middle of a flashback. Wow! I am so glad oda is doing
it this way. This moment has been built up for so long and it might be
the last and only chance we get to truly spend time in this era. It
really feels like the pinnacle of a classic one piece arc now, just set
in a different time period.
A fun thing I thought about that's looking increasingly likely: volume
114 might be the first volume in all of one piece not to feature luffy.
Only time that might happen again will be during the void century
flashback.
