I know people will have opinions on the garp slander/character assassinations. But I honestly like the characterization. Garp is a likeable cool character, but he's still marine/ world government pilled character. It gives him a greyness like how some people are in real life. People love jon bernthal but looking at his views with regards to police and military and he's a different person. Still affable and cool, but he's complicated.
So I hope oda doesn't try to do something convoluted to make him redeemable.
If he is given an arc, maybe something like him and coby realizing at the end of the series that a world government built on making sure there is a suffering class is better off gone.
Idk just an idea, I just don't want some cop out like somehow garp not being aware of how atrocious the celestial dragon's are.
Theres absolutely zero way a marine of garps level would be unfamiliar with a tricentenial event that heavily features marines.
He's without a doubt been in dragon's shoes at some point in the past, but chose to turn a blind eye and round up the natives. I’m curious to see if garp and roger team up here to save shamrock and shanks from rocks and that’s how he dies. Fingerland ends up killing blackbeards mom and rocks is going to try to kill the twins as revenge. Would explain why roger trusted garp enough to take care of ace.
