So the traitor who betrayed shakky and the rocks pirates to the world
government was ochoku. That must be why he'll rule hachinosu after this.
So maybe blackbeard was avenging his father when he killed him in the
rocky port incident.
Ochoku has a very similar distinctive look and personality to caribou.
They might be father and son. If they are it sets up some interesting
possibilities. Ochoku was indirectly responsible for the death of
blackbeard's dad, while blackbeard killed ochoku.
I would expect teach
to laugh at the strange tides of fate before being righteous and
sentimental but we don't really know how he feels toward his father.
Anyone other than caribou I would expect to seek vengeance but that's
not his style. Though he did sail with his brother coribou so maybe
family means something to him?
Maybe they aren't related at all but oda has a few interesting twists to
play with if they are. Depending who finds out certain parts of history

I been thought they were father and son but reading this made me think
that caribou is most likely getting close to blackbeard to get revenge.
It didn’t make sense at first on why he wanted to see teach so bad.
Blackbeard's sins of the father beliefs would ironically sink him
knowledge on the ancient weapons if blackbeard just nuked him
immediately coz he is ochoku's kid, but I doubt caribou would be such a
character oda would use so much to just discard him at this point.
