I am so glad we got to see dragon as a normal sized human being with a normal power.
Made me wonder if garp raised him like he did luffy or did he just think "Being in the marines will toughen him up".
Cuz I think he was so tough love with luffy because he later realized that just how easy it is to land yourself into a conflict filled with monster you can't beat. You need that dog in you to survive this kinda stuff.
This is garp at his peak constantly looking for the greatest enemies, there's no reason to rush for his son so he can let him grow at his own pace and once dragon gets a high enough rank he could acompany garp and receive some insane training.
Garp never expected a low rank like his son to end up in a battle like this.
I do kinda wonder why dragon is so "Normal" at this period.
I'm not necessarily expecting him to contend with the rocks crew or gods knights, so I guess he could feasibly be at the gap of like, luffy at marineford seeing admirals and yc clashing.
But he just seems like a grunt with a gun. I woulda thought garp would've trained him more than that.
